That looked class, a nice frosty top, no sign of rain and stunning views sure what more could you ask for. Really enjoyed this one and your new camera is doing a cracking job. Happy days, cheers Eddie 👍

Thanks Jason, a fine easy one to start the year with and the weather was pretty much perfect tbh. Was glad to be able to get out in it. If the whole hike had been like the weather at the top it would have been a tough one. 🥶👍🏻

Thank you Eddie for your amazing videos and photos. Those colours!!! Did Brandon several times. No views the last times, but its always worth it.😊

Thanks very much MH. Agree with you there, Brandon is always worth it. I haven’t had it clear up top in ages, wouldn’t stop me tho. ⛰️👍

There’s an “easy” way up ?? 😂😂😂 that was savage Eddie, the views below the cloud line were insane !! Class dronage and footage and shots the lot 👏👏
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Thanks Darren. It was a cracking day. As you say, the views coming down that way are fantastic. It’s great to get a chance to get the drone up, it gives a totally different take on the landscape. Easy enough for a guy recovering from back problems too, just a fyi 😉🥾

A lovely video Eddie. Really enjoyed it. I climbed Mt. Brandon in the summer of 1969. There's such a peaceful feeling on top of mountains, a sort of detachment from the busy world below.

thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. Totally agree, its great heading into the mountains alright, I've a lot of time to make up for the last few months , you'd miss them,, 👍

Hi Eddie, just stumbled across your channel and boy am I glad I did! Some beautiful camera work and drone footage there really showed off the mountain in all its glory! Those ice formations were amazing and the colours in the sky towards the end where class! You got a new sub, looking forward to your videos now! ATB

Hi Gary, It was a cracking day alright, had a mix of everything. It’s great to get the drone up as more often than not it’s just too windy, have often just had it in the bag for the day. That colour, 5 mins after I shot that, it was gone, so was lucky to get it. Thanks for the sub. 👍🏻

Great shots of the frost and ice over the landscape, 'twas `fairly cold' at the top he said.! Always the optimist Eddie. Great start to the new year, thanks once again.

As a kid I used to fish out of Brandon and would often gaze up at the peak. One day...if my old knees allow 😆

Brandon always draws my attention whenever i am down there, a big imposing lump, it’s a great mountain to go up and if you get a clear day it’s unbeatable. Some day maybe, this is definitely the “easier” way up😎

Really nice video Eddie. Beautifully shot and really does justice to the amazing scenery of Mt. Brandon and Slea Head. What a great happenstance to meet, and a pleasure to chat on the way down the mountain. Thanks man. 👌🙂

Thanks Mark, we’d a mix of everything the last day alright and it all looked great. It was a right enjoyable chat on the way down. Yet again Brandon delivers with the great views and meeting great folks in conversation around there. Enjoy the coming year on the hills. ⛰️🥾💨☔️🌬️

Nice video Eddie! Enjoyed watching… I was expecting a plain and beautiful view from the top but surprised to see a lot of snow. In fact it looks even better 😀
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Thanks Murugan, getting a beautiful view from the top is rare enough for me, but when you do get it, it’s fantastic. hopefully will get a few during the coming year 🤞🏻 the cold conditions up top were pretty cool alright. 🥶

Eddie, a lovey clear day and some great light☀ Super colours on the hills and some nicely frozen ground. Loved the rime ice growing all over the place around the summit and the raven keeping an eye on you. Looked like a perfect walk to start 2024 and to get back out in the mountains👣
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Thanks Gerry, I didn’t know that’s what that type of ice was called, I’d reckon a few days earlier the whole place would have had a full blanket of it. Yep, it was great to get out in it with those conditions, cracking start to the year. 👍🏻

Thank you John, glad you’re enjoying them. That is some top class planning , it won’t be long coming around now with the longer evenings and the warmer (hopefully) weather. 👍🏻😎
@johncoleman46467 ай бұрын
Yes definitely, i truly cant wait! Weve got five days, staying just outside of castlemaine....im a bit overwhelmed with what walking i can do in that time. Ive organised a guided walk up brandon on my second day, then im looking for a few less demanding ones that i can do with my partner, who infortunately has has some foot issues at the moment. Can you recommend any like 2 hour walks on dingle penninsula that we could do? Theres only so much one can do in five days...haha
@eddieforde7 ай бұрын
Taking into account the foot problem more than the time, the ones I would go for would probably be : go up Dunmore Head, you get to see Cumeenole beach and the coast is very dramatic when up there, a bit steep at the start but not so bad. The Blasket centre and walk out to the viewing platform and school house (last video of 2023). Clogher beach out around to Cuas. Finally, away from the coast would be Glanteenassig, or Annascaul lake. As you say, there are so many options. And Killarney in the other direction then. You’ll be tired after your 5 days that’s for sure. Hope you’ve a great time there. 👍🏻😁

Hey thanks a lot Eddie, i actually just watched your last video of 2023 last night...thats awsome thankyou, thats a big help... Ive been binge watching your channel, beautiful work! Cheers Eddie

Fair play Eddie, love Brandon. Just found your channel, great content. Will you be heading further afield in the spring, i am from the Deise, you would love the circuit of Coumshingaun in the Comeraghs.
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Thanks Manchesteru999, I’d hoped to do some bit of the Comeraghs last year but it never happened, I’d like to think I’ll try again this year but who knows. As you can probably tell Dingle Peninsula is my main goto, but hoping to travel a bit more this year… if it stops with the storms. 🤞🏻😬

Great Video eddie. Breathtaking. Tell me this did you shoot handheld with your Osmo Pocket 3 ? It looks awesome
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Hi Ger @gerspunto1 , thanks. I didn’t use the Osmo for this. I used the GoPro 10 Black for most of it. The drone shots are with the DJI mini 3 Pro, and there are two shots, looking towards the Reeks past Brandon Peak, with my Canon. I have the go pro on an extendable extension arm, I find it’s easier to carry than the Osmo and I don’t have to be as careful with it. I’m still wary of the Osmo in bad weather and when I saw the cloud up top I made the decision to GoPro it. The GoPro, for me at least, has been rock solid in nearly all conditions, with the exception of low light when the image suffers a bit. If you’ve any other techy questions ask away. Hope that helps.

I went down that way, too, but never up. I never reached the top without having clouds, but would like to. 😉 Going up the pater noster lakes in good weather, that would be great. 😋
@eddieforde9 ай бұрын
Yep, has the same result up top in the Paternoster video. I’ve resigned myself to it being more about the trip up now, rather than getting a clear summit. Everyday is a good day then 😬
