Yeah, there are a lot more scenic hikes around the area. Lots of great hikes in the nearby Guanalla Pass area for example.

I was just there last week for vacay and did this hike. 14k footers all around the area really blew me away as someone that usually just hikes locally in NJ and occasionally in the catskills and ADK lol.

Not sure exactly about the temp. The windchill was the main culprit. Whenever we got a chance to step out of the wind, the weather actually felt kind of nice
