On the 4th of July I realized my first steps to hiking in the Adirondack mountains by hiking Owls Head Trail, just outside of Keene, NY. At just under 2200 feet, Owls Head is one of the shorter hikes you can do, but to me it was the perfect way to introduce myself to these mountains. Arriving at the mountain at 6:45 am allowed Cooper and I to have the trail to ourselves, and enjoy the vistas with only the wind to keep us company.
