Hi, that's the thing with stick making its the waiting . I have a slower pace of life nowadays, so I guess it is not so frustrating as it would be for other's. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.

Ciao Andy! Cominciato da un paio di giorni. Nocciolo e corniolo, ma da me non sono in pianura ma in montagna. Una fatica! Ma è bello lo stesso. Un saluto

Hi , It's nice knowing you're out harvesting in a far-off land doing the same as me. Most of my best locations are in valleys . Happy and a successful harvest for yourself .kind regards,Andy.

@hiddenvalleyfootpaths25612 ай бұрын
Hi, I guess the longest is around 7 feet so I get the option to do staff's. Usually though 5 feet.Thanks for watching. Andy.

Have recently signed up to the Woodland Trust. Part of their subscriber 'package' is a set of of tree swatches, showing what the leaves look like. Sadly, as it's based on the leaves (not there in autumn/winter) it's not too helpful in November/UK.. So, how do I identify a Hazel tree? Leaves seem to be round-ish, but then so do Alder. Without the leaves (best time to harvest sticks) identification seems even more difficult. Any tips guys?

Hi, I know you can get identification apps for the phone but I use hard copy books mostly or goggle search what I am seeing. I am not involved in charitable trusts or charities for personal reasons and beliefs.

If it's not my land, can I legally harvest 'sticks'? If not, how do I get permission to do so?
@hiddenvalleyfootpaths25612 ай бұрын
Hi, no, you can't harvest anywhere as everything in the UK is technically owned. You need permission, I am fortunate I have permission to cut at my favourite locations . If you approach a land owner, I am sure they would not mind you harvesting a few sticks.Then build a reliable relationship with them until they see you not destroying the environment. This will usually mean they will eventually show you good cutting locations on their land and trust you cutting. Thanks for watching and commenting.
