I have been trying to explain that section of the track to my brother - Mt. Cook, for a few years, now I can send him your video. Thanks so much. What tent do you have and how much does it weigh? I think I am going to have to finally cave and get one given the amount of people that are out there at the moment.

Awesome, I hope it helps mate. 👍😊 My tent is a $35 cheapy from Kmart, not sure what it weights but it’s about the same as a hiking tent just without a fly and the price tag. Despite one of the huts having 20 people camp it actually worked, quite, nice people, good atmosphere and when walking felt like I was the only one out there. 👍😊

Hi Dan, am really enjoying your Bibb videos that I have recently discovered. Am slowly getting gear together... just wondered what type of selfie stick/tripod (combo?) your using ? As that is next on my list to purchase. I assume it is a GoPro your using? ( or is it your phone?). Many thanks and keep the videos coming! Cheers Greg

Awesome mate, cheers for your message. I use a GoPro with a floating stick, handy for if I’m ever in the water I guess but mainly because it’s a chunky stick so I’m less likely to loose it. 👍😊

Hi again, still enjoying the videos.. just wondering if you use an external mic on your go pro and if so what one?( and if you find it noticeably better?). I am planning on doing the Bibb end to end in April/May and am considering recording it etc.. also deciding if go pro or Dslr camera may be better? Any pointers? Don’t want anything too complicated as walking will be hard enough!)

@@scoursey I don’t use an external mic, however a mic does sound better. RODE do a nice small mic and you’ll need to get a mod to be able to attach it to the camera. I find the quality without a mic acceptable and it’s one less thing to pack/brake/loose 🤦‍♂️ Saying that I have just received a thing called a media mod for my GoPro. I’m yet to use it but so far I’m not that overly impressed and I wish I’d read up on it before purchasing as it got some negative reviews. I use a DSLR in my 4wding vids with a cardioid mic with a dead cat that gives good results but I don’t take it hiking on long trips as it to bulky and not water proof. Hope that helps. 👍 Dan.
