What's your opinion on people being arrested for flying drones?
@PrasannaKumar035 жыл бұрын
Flying drones is not a crime. But where u r trying to do, is a big question. Whenever u visit any place it is better to check the local laws and regulations about these things. Because law enforcement people needs to look at bunch of stuff for security reasons. Just my thought 🥶🥶
@AliceFordAdventures5 жыл бұрын
@@PrasannaKumar03 I totally agree. And in some places it is illegal to fly drones, so its always best to check the local regulations.

Alice, I live in WA state and am glad they are banned in national parks. They are cool and they capture great scenery but the last thing I want to hear when I’m hiking / backpacking / enjoying nature is a drone buzzing overhead!

The lake in this video (Lake Minnewaska) was the site of two grand Hotels for most of the 20th century. The Wildemere and the Cliff House. Both were built by the Smiley family which built the nearby Mohonk Mountain House which still operates today. A ski area was later added by the property’s next owner Ken Philips. Both hotels fell into decline in the seventies and were closed. Both were eventually destroyed by fire. Most of the trails at Minnewaska were carriage ways for use by the hotel guests. The open meadows in the park were part of a golf course.

This is my favorite place in the whole world!! Took my kids hiking around Lake Minnewaska every weekend almost..especially in the Fall. Winter hikes are great as well. There is a small beach on the low side for swimming in the Summer. A little bit of Heaven. Its a easy 2 mile hike and it was once a carriage way...so its great for kids.

But of course this is the Shawangunk Range, which has no relationship to the Catskills--the two are vastly different in age and geology. But yes, you can see the Catskills to the north and west.

i am 73 and never imagined that little strange sounding word GUNKS would be my favorite word , holding memories unspeakably dear It's true when Scenery, itself a feast for the eyes is yet made sacred or sanctified by the ineffable dearness of memories, the quiet joy that comes is like no other and so memory is indeed the only paradise from which no one can be turned away. I thank Jesus for my salvation , for my beloved wife and for the Gunks

Hi Alice, Just had a chance to catch up watching your most recent video adventure. Thanks again for a great video and for sharing an actual in depth view of the hiking trails at the Catskills. I'm jealous, the views around you look so peaceful and really beautiful. I totally understand why you would want to take a power nap considering the surroundings and the sun beating down on you. At least you didn't have to kill any crabs for snacks (just kidding... hehehe) during your hike break. I've been to Durango, Colorado and I really loved hiking and the whitewater rafting there. Not to mention all of the great restaurants, really friendly people, and numerous other outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, etc. I don't know if you have been there or not. If you have not, you might want to check it out and produce a video about your experience in the future. I'm sure you would just love it there. Thanks again for the interesting video and I think you deserve some good rest from all of your traveling that you have been doing. God Bless, Eric Monte

I also know you pass through New Paltz to get to the Gunks. Isn't New Paltz in the Catskills?
@rockintetster3 жыл бұрын
@@charlesperry6408 No, The Shawangunks are a completely separate mountain range. They were formed by glaciers. The nearby Catskills are an eroded high elevation plain. Unfortunately, most of the regions of southern New York state west of the Hudson river north of the New Jersey border are erroneously labeled the “Catskills.” There are numerous mountains and geological features that are unrelated. Harriman State Park, the Hudson Highland Mountains (Bear Mountain, Storm King, etc.), the Palisades, and the Ramapos are all in the region and have nothing to do with the Catskills. The term “Catskill” often refers to the region of resorts and rural areas that have been an escape for residents of the New York City region for two centuries. If you are from the NYC area you would know how awful New Yorkers are at correctly labeling geographic areas and regional features!

Awesome video like always! I have a drone as well, but since I live so close to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, it is not allowed to be flown. In fact, so many parts of Tampa, flying drones is prohibited. As annoying as those rules and regulations are, I still respect them. Also, I don't want to challenge the might of the American Air Force. Haha.

Krieger vs BigBrother That’s a good call. Yeah most cities don’t allow drones and you have to be at least 5 miles from an airport too unless your in contact with the local tower.
