Krista and Brian you guys have an amazing relationship. Every time you talk to Brian he's got a smile from ear-to-ear you can tell he's in love with you. The perfect match made from heaven.

So nice to see the blues skies after your very rainy night!!! It’s pretty amazing that after fording the rivers, you do not get blisters with your wet footwear. Love watching you two making your way through this amazing journey. I’m happy for you both to have each other as you go through the challenges of this incredible hiking experience. Your videos are a highlight of my week❤

So glad to hear! Thanks for watching! Our Lone Peaks by Altra dry out really quickly as we walk. I also swap out my socks at every break and hang my socks off the back of my pack to dry out in the sun when it's sunny.

I don't know if its the quality of footage, your choice of music, the absolutely stunning Vancouver Island vistas, Brians smiles or your honest accounts of challenges and mental health meditations , but I'm getting more and more emotional each time I witness your journeys LOL!! What an absolute privilege it is to be able to have healthy bodies and minds to tackle something like this. I see where gratitude mindset really comes in. When i feel physical challenges, all I do is thank each body part for allowing me to do what I'm doing. Thanks again Kryata and Brian for another spectacular video.

Hey! Great videos, I recently moved to the island and had no idea you could hike the length of the island until now! Wild! I had a question for you as I’m thinking about upgrading my gear for recording videos, I usually use my phone but I’m curious about getting that smaller vlog camera you use. Is it pretty light? And do you find it much better quality than your phone? Or do you also just like having it so you aren’t draining your phone battery as much? Thank you In advance 😊

"trail" is such a generous word for that first climb! Absolutely going to have some of those meditations on hand for my first thru hike (PCT) next year! Thank you for sharing the adventure!

I love how Brian is always smiling--at least on camera! ha ha. It's interesting how critical logging roads are for your journey. I am reading a book right now on the timber wars on Vancouver Island and the fight to save one tree--Big Lonely Doug. Did hanging out in a tunnel feel very PCT (desert section)? Well, minus the desert. You made it your favorite zone--alpine! Are you seeing anyone else doing the end to end of the island? From the video it doesn't seem like you are encountering too many others.

Thanks for sharing your adventure... Absolutely beautiful shots. I see the camera mount on your backpack. I'm in the market for one. How do you like it? Do you have any regrets with that style/brand? at 4:33 I too was talking about this... how our bodies are like stubborn horses and our brains are like the rider. The horse's job is to conserve energy... I remember Haruki Murakami talking about this too in his book, "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running", he talks about having to show the body, little by little, what it can do in order to get it to understand. He assures us the body/horse does listen and does stop it's complaints. Amazing shots. Great work.

Are those really high mileage days due to limitations of the food you can carry? Forty kilometers seems brutal, even on cruisier stretches, but especially on the rougher sections. Curious about why you would push that far.
@KrystaNorwick15 күн бұрын
We had to push the big day on our last day because we only carried so much food for the section thinking we would do more mileage on the first days of the section. It's also a lot easier to push that big of a day with a very light pack too! It was worth it to see our friends and eat pizza!
