Hiking the NTC: M-20 to Nichols Lake, Michigan.

Back on May 16-18, 2024 we did this section of the North Country Trail (NCT) hike as a two over night hike, totaling around 20-21 miles. Beautifully forested hike w a vast variety of vocal birds! It was a hot and muggy hike, but well worth it!

white cloud chapter of the NCT does a great job of maintaining the trail.

White cloud is west MI. I live in Sparta MI now, but for over 20 years I lived in Newaygo county, which consists of White Cloud, Fremont, Newaygo, Grant, and a couple other little towns or places between. It buts up to Kent county which is a very big spread. Where I'm at now is kinda Kent and Newaygo county.

You probably know my friend Mike. He's walked a lot of the trail. Last year he walked from the UP to White Cloud. I think it was 350 miles in 22 days.

you need some gaitors bud. keeps all thay junk out of your shoes. super cheap amd very affective.
