Awesome to see the Ottertail and Goodsir Pass get some love on KZbin. More people should do it that way. Bit of work but Goodsir is worth it. Amazing to see the work Yoho's done on that trail since I hiked it just two years ago too.

Goodsir Pass is a bit of work, but you're right, worth it. I've hiked in from the Paint Pots several times. Okay trail, but nothing really scenic until you near Helmet Falls. The McArthur Creek campsite is at a good location (the warden's cabin is in a better one!) and that hike over Goodsir Pass is challenging but rewarding. The walk in through Yoho to Goodsir Pass was good hiking, compared to what you probably faced two years ago. Thanks for watching, Ben.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, the trails were in great shape. Parks Canada apparently has done a great job in the past year cleaning up the trail in Yoho. I think it was a mess from a couple of years ago, strong winds and lots of trees down.

Great video! Really liked your discussion on Athabasca Pass trail. It is a shame Jasper National Park has not replaced the bridge yet. Athabasca Pass is a national historic site and Parks Canada has to maintain natural site and historic sites for all Canadians in their mandates. Currently Athabasca Pass has basically been abandoned and will soon be like Howse Pass national historic site if nothing is done soon.

Thanks for watching, zinger. Yeah, it's a shame that Jasper hasn't replaced that Simon Creek bridge. Or taken up that gentleman's incredible offer to build, install, and maintain one. Makes me think more and more about looking elsewhere to do my hiking.

Enjoyed your video a lot. Did most of this hike with my daughter in the opposite direction to you. Curious about a few things in your video: 1. What app was Dave using to showing the elevation profile and camp location? 2. At 18:06 where were those mountain profiles used on the phone obtained from? 3. Any trouble obtaining permits this time of year? 4. Your the first hiker I have seen use a pulse ox on their hike.....is that standard equipment for you? Again thanks for sharing and enjoying your channel.

1. Dave and Stuart both were using FarOut on their phones. 2. Dave had PeakFinder for the mountain names. 3. No trouble at all getting a permit for mid October. The crowds are gone by then and weather can be questionable, so there's lots of availablity for permits. We saw no one on the hike until the last night where we camped beside Floe Lake, and then saw a bunch of dayhikers the last morning as we hiked out to our vehicle. Saying that, I had hoped to hike the Rockwall in early October but was on vacation in eastern Canada then. 4. I like to take the OxyMeter just for curiosity, it measures my pulse rate and my oxygen saturation. I like pulling it out on a stiff uphill climb just to see what the reading is. I could wear a watch and probably get way more information, but I hate wearing a watch. The OxyMeter weighs hardly anything and fits easily in one of my hipbelt pockets. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the views and the comments.
