Hiking the Seven Sisters: The Perfect Day Trip from London

One of the BEST day trips from London is the Seven Sisters. In this video I tell you everything you need to know about the breathtaking Seven Sisters Hike. This hike is from Seaford to Eastbourne and features one of Southern England's most striking landscapes: the white cliffs along the English Channel. It's called the Seven Sisters hike because of the seven continuous hills that you'll be climbing in one section of the hike. You can easily do this hike as a day trip from London, so if you have an extra day in England I highly recommend it!

If you walk the rest of the path to Eastbourne you pass the Belle Toute lighthouse, then go up the famous Beachy Head, and can see the beautiful Beachy Head lighthouse. My vote is to take the train back to London from Eastbourne - of course allowing time for a delicious plate of fish and chips in town before leaving!

You should try walking various points on the South West Coastal Path if you enjoyed this. The scenery is more varied and depending on the time of year you'll be sharing the coast with seals, dolphins and basking sharks!

You might like the Dorset coast (Jurassic coast), there are lots of nice hidden places like Durdle Door. And the New Forest where I am has some lovely hiking trails and free roaming horses everywhere and even some Highland cows wandering around 🎉

Thanks so much for commenting! I want to visit the Jurassic coast so bad, it just doesn’t seem feasible by public transport. So I’ll need to find a friend to drive me! I didn’t know about the highland cows, that makes me even more excited :)

@@SheRunTheWorld you can get the train to weymouth which is right there but not sure beyond that, and there aren't too many highland cows so i wouldn't plan a a trip just to see them as you may not, horses are everywhere though and donkeys, esp in brockenhurst 👍

Once you get to weymouth there are buses that will take you to Durdle door and Lulworth Cove or if you are feeling adventurous you can walk from Weymouth to Lulworth Cove and get the bus back to Weymouth. The walk is amazing and I highly recommend. BTW, I clicked on the video as i am planning on walking the seven sisters this weekend. Love your very informative video.

For me personally I did London to Eastbourne and then take a 12X bus from there to Seven Sisters. I've never been there but this is what I found. Does this route work too?

Yeah! You can start the hike in Eastbourne and end in either Birling Gap or Seaford!! :)

Yes! Cuz we did that in reverse, took the bus from Birling Gap back to Seaford to catch our train :)
