hello both, thank you for the great video! i am thinking of hiking in the early morning too. may i check if the path is well-marked and if there are any areas to take note? i am afraid that i might go off-trek missing a signboard since might be still quite dark.

The path is very straightforward so no worries. Just avoid the sheep poop 😂

What a nice view! Not sure if I will decide to climb during the night for the sunrise, but am considering of taking my dji mini to the roys peak. Should I apply for a permit? Or do most people just fly for a few minutes without worries?

So stunning, my friends and I are planning to go to Roy’s peak as well, can I know how long did you take and is it quite difficult to climb up?

It took us a little over 3 hours and we felt like we were hiking quite fast since we weren't sure how long we actually needed. The hike is quite tough both up and down since it's pretty much inclined the entire hike and can be quite steep at times.

Beautiful video! May I ask if the view from the peak is more beautiful during sunrise or sunset (when will the sun be touching the lake)?

Thank you! We only did the sunrise hike so can't speak exactly about sunset but the peak faces slightly to the northeast and there's more of the lake to the east so to your question sunrise may be slightly better if that helps.

That's a beautiful sunrise, definitely worth it especially for people like me who watch a video without actually climbing 😇. The shot looking down showed how steep the climb was. Did you use a drone to capture some of the pictures at the end?

Yeah we did! There were several other hikers at the top who also flew with us and shared their footage with us as well
