Now you can go back and get the Summit. That was the false Summit. The actual Summit is in the woods, but congrats on a well filmed video and conquering those slabs

O I'm aware. I'll be sure to film a special segment for the diehards of putting my foot and really planting it on the marker and touching the rock pile whenever I get around to filming Passaconoway....

I found the hike a good workout in going up and over the ledges. However, I do hate to break this news to you (sorry), but that was just the south summit; the true summit is further into the forest along the Rollins Trail (past the Kate Sleeper Trail) marked by a small cairn along side the trail, surrounded by trees.

Don't know if you know it but the true summit is not the open ledges. The true summit is marked by a cairn on the trail beyond the ledges.

Wonderful video and an amazing accomplishment. But, is that actually the summit? I seem to remember the cairn marking the actual summit a ways past this point and in the trees. It's a small point and doesn't diminish the wonderful video. Thanks for making it.

3.9 one way. I'm not sure I was filming and this was three years ago. The rocks are so steep it was the safest and fastest way. you could not "walk down"

Hi Adam! Found you when you met Taylor on the Hike with her Dog. Not found your video of that yet but along for the ride. One question, what material are your shorts/trousers made from as you hear the sound of you walking all the time? Not complaining just wondered what they are made from. Anyways new Subscriber from Stafford England UK 🇬🇧. Looking forward to watching more in the Whites/Presidentials. I started my binge of all things walking from following Thru-Hikers on the PCT and then Kyle Hates Hiking with his Podcasts. Glad I found you and I look forward to some catch up videos. Happy Trails!!! Chris 🙂

Hi Chris! Welcome aboard. Yes that was a fun video. My portion of that might not even come out till next month. I just need to release my stuff in order I filmed it to not confuse myself haha. I actually do not know. They are just green adidas synthetic shorts. i believe they may be running shorts. I honestly picked them out of the many options from Dicks purely do to the color choice haha. They were the most vibrant green option and that was the look I wanted to have. The most vanity choice of my whole setup whereas everything else is practical hahaha. I have noticed they can be rather loud. I'm glad you're falling in love with the beauty of the White mountains. It is really a special place to me. I am excited because starting next week the rest of the video until January should focus on all those mountains! I hope you enjoy them! You might also enjoy the videos from my friend: David P. McEntee. He does his hikes on your side of the pond!

Big Rich Went up and down Blueberry Ridge twice about 50 years ago. A famous writer, John Tollan, ww2 writtings, brought me up as a guest. He also brought up a doughter who had never hiked before but was a track star. A tough climb even for a track atar, she gave up the ghost only 200 feet from summit. There were ladders back then on the steepest ledges. The second time up, on the way down just below the ledges a fast moving thunderstorm rolled on thru. Some good hail for a couple of minutes and it was gone. The thunder in the high mountains was spectacular and so different than at ground level. Great vidio again and thanks.

Glad you enjoyed it big rich! I'm happy my video was able to bring you back the good memories when you hiked it! Tough even for a track star indeed! I would be so nervous seeing a thunderstorm in the Mountains!

Hi Adam. Fun video to watch, especially since I climbed Whiteface earlier this year. I'm wondering how tall you are because at 5'9", I was glad to have a hiking companion who assisted me by reaching out a hand on one of the two toughest ledges. I assisted him with his dog, in turn. My second question is what brand of hiking short do you have and did it survive the sliding descent 😄?
@AdamHoyt Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you found the video as much fun to watch as it was when I hiked it! haha I'm 5'11" and think I could have used a boost as well in certain spots. Luckily I was scrambly lol. ooo haha I think they are just adidas and not even hiking shorts. I only bought the ones that I did from dicks because they were the bright green I wanted bahaha.

Thanks for putting this together. Out of curiosity are there painted blazes and/or trail markers to direct you so you know which way to go when you get to the top of each scramble, or is it pretty obvious? Thanks.
@AdamHoyt2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video Jim. I would say that yes there is marking up on the rocks. I did not have much trouble following the trail in the Summer time compared to when they were all covered in snow in the winter time. I will say though that they are maybe more sparse than Other similar trails because this is a wilderness area so I think they purposefully went light on the markings to preserve more of nature.

Congratulations Adam, and thanks for the video - now I know what I missed and if it would have been wise to bring my dog on the last part or through to Passaconaway I made it to the overlook just before the scramble with my Boston terroir- got too much at that point and took quit for the day. Then Tom Wiggen’s trail back - that trail is in disrepair so much more challenging then the blueberry trail. I plan to not take the dog and run the two 4000 footers next time - ps maybe not the best choice for my first 4000er - lol

big rich. I went up Blueberry Ridge trail many years ago when there were some ladders on the steepest parts. I was the young strong one so I carried their dog up the ladders. Some of the ledges would be very difficult for a dog. Good luck.
