I've seen a few videos of Cnicht (although I've not yet been myself) and I honestly feel as though you have both captured it all better than what I've seen before. :-) Well done to Ceri for overcoming so many fears along the way - including being "abandonned" by Kat. ;-) Looks like you had a great time and views to go with it. Thanks for sharing and all the best.

Good afternoon Olly, thanks so much for you lovely comment. It's a properly iconic little mountain, we climbed it in 2016, but i had left my boots in the holiday cottage....doh! So the inappropriate footwear and my even worse head for heights back them ment I waited at the plateau, as Kat summited ❤🤗 Of ever you get the chance, we can highly recommend, the veiws were spectacular and I'm sure your more than aware the camera doesn't do it any justice. Funnily enough just minutes before Bennett in Kat's dust we had been talking about knowing who you walk with and trusting them lol, luckily I soon caught up! Hope you are good and well, catch you again, Ceri and Kat ❤🤗☕👍⛰

This is a hill I have fancied climbing since my teenage years. I wonder if I have now left it a bit late. It just never seemed the right moment/weather or a myriad other things. I have also now developed an aversion to big drops. In years past I have not had a problem but as I have got older this lack of confidence in my balance has arrived. I sympathise totally now with Ceri in a way I perhaps would have been less able to when I was younger. I appreciate what it takes to confront these feelings when on some of these paths. Thanks for this video which gave me a closer look at the path. I might get there yet.

This would be a great formmirat mountain if ever you are up in North Wales, was very much what I did all those years ago, only to forget my hiking boots! Left them I the holiday cottage 🤭😬 I do fear that until, if ever, my tinnitus is cured I will never be 100% wobble free on an exposed edge or screen climbs, just approach cautiously and knowing when I need to tag out for safety is the main thing. I remember when Whooping Cough was a massive thing when I was a kid, like so many other things that today, we think that have never happened. I love the sound of a free car park and that was a belter of a walk up to Cnicht and I was loving it as well😀. may not have been the biggest or toughest to the top but the views were great and my little heart was fluttering as well and I always take my time. It did look blowy at the top mind but good to see it did not stop Kat practising her semaphore😳. Must admit, I like to use walking poles, especially on the way down for the extra stability , it may be a help to you🤔. I love tinned pineapple but I would not want to be that far away from a loo, so not for me on a mountain😂. Cheers Alan

Good evening Adam, yes Kat was attempting to signal down low flying air craft! Very grateful for Whooping cough immunisatio, my generation didn't have to suffer from, sounds terrible. Yes I must admit I own hiking poles, but am a rare user of them, i will start carrying them on my backpack more and try using them more frequently too. It was more blown than the wind reduction on the cameras made out, at one point I was sporting an Elvis like quiff lol! Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing! I have to admit I struggle with some of the same issues as Ceri and would have probably required being tethered to the ground in order to speak coherently to a camera while up so high especially with the wind! Coming down I’m sure I would have been scooting on my behind until a more stable platform was under foot 🤣 Loved this video, so happy you both enjoyed it and were able to see the well earned views. 😊

Good morning Jan, thank you so much for joining us on this one, really pleased you enjoyed the huge and the stunning veiws in offer. Funnily how you mentioned scooting, I had to slide down Snowdon the vista time we climbed it, my knees just couldt take it. I have become a little more confident with the wobbles over the years, but as you could probably tell by my motor mouth at times, my heart was racing. Thanks again for your amazing feedback and support, really appreciated, Ceri and Kat ⛰❤👍☕

Does anyone know who Helen was? Such a trip to see so much land with so little trees. The trail looks sublime, not having to watch out for catching your toes in snaking roots. Nice soft grass everywhere, and plenty of stones. We have lots of those too, from all the glaciers eating up the mountains and crapping rocks all over the place. Sarah is right with you Ceri, with a lot of the same stuff. She won't even go near ledges, and if we plan something with scrambles, it'll just be JR and Aria heading up. Good on you for powering through. Outdoors folk are the same everywhere I think, nicest crowd we've ever been associated with. Respect people that want the space, but never leave anyone in need. Stunning views guys, we can't wait to see where you get off to next!

Fab video and climb in a part of the world that I’m not familiar with - Cnicht looks ‘proper pointy’ too. Well done on making it to the top! I’ll add it to my ‘so many peaks, so little time’ list! I do so know what you mean about the exhilaration of reaching a summit and if you can’t get the odd whoop, high five, fist bump and holler in on a summit, where else? I’m slowly upping my mileage and still taking walking sticks out. I’m not entirely comfortable but the sticks are largely only for sympathy now. I have noticed even a couple of miles leaves me feeling a bit weak and/or ravenously hungry - somebody suggested my blood sugar might be crashing because I’m so unfit. That said, I’ve just made some flapjacks for trail food and with your suggestion of stem ginger added. Smells great fresh out of the oven. I’m trialling them on Julie tomorrow when she’s off on a hike with a chum. If she doesn’t come back with eyes and nose streaming or impale me on a walking pole on her return, I’ll take it they are a success!
@ianpark18053 жыл бұрын
Meant to add that the slab wall at the beginning rang a bell. There’s one near me on Otley Chevin of similar construction, upright single stones side by side. It’s called the Vacca Wall which suggests that it is old and may once have kept livestock (‘vacca’ being Latin for cow) in, or indeed out. One thing is certain - it’s been a long while since any cows were roaming about near the wall.
