Thanks for posting, Ladies. I'm really enjoying each video.

There are many videos on YT of folk wild camping in winter, but only for a couple of nights at most, then there are the videos of through hikes in summer where folk give up after a few days. Videos of through hikes and wild camping in winter, especially in the Highlands, are rare. It takes a lot of grit and determination to set up camp at the end of a wet day, and to get going again next morning. What you have achieved is amazing. I shall miss your videos and the banter. Chapeau to you both.

Just watched the entire 8 day trip; down memory lane (although I did it in spring). Lovely winter footage. Rarely you come across such nice humour between 2 hiking buddies. The jokes about 'smelly for the uninitiated', faffing in the lodge, decade of ultralight gear experience, the bossanova intermezzo; you 2 are a joy to watch, wish you the best of times on the PCT. Please stay humorous, lovely and resilient AF.

Great. I watched your whole journey and you did a fantastic job of promoting this walk and also got through the problems and injuries you were both suffering from. Well done.

I just finished the WHW yesterday. I have a feeling I'm going to watch these videos of yours over and over again. You captured it so much better than my memory! We had great weather on our trip, minus a few hours here and there of no big deal rain. You guys made it look fun even in the winter and I'm very tempted to go back and do it again over my December birthday.

Hope you had a great hike. Can definitely recommend doing it in winter. It was so beautiful but very chilly 🥶

After watching some of the start of your adventure I had to come back and watch the rest, You came across as 2 friends really enjoying each others company and you took on the challenge and seemed to enjoy every moment. One of the best watches of the last 12 months. Well done.

I really enjoyed these videos of your walk, thank you both. So impressed that you kept smiling even with all the rain and darkness and the long nights in a small tent. I hope to do the walk myself next year when I retire. Happy walking.

Well done on finishing ladies. You were a joy to watch. Funny, witty and very entertaining. That last leg was dark when you setvof and dark when you arrived. I think that leg is vastly underestimated in how tough it is. People say day 3 along the loch is the toughest but, i dunno, i think maybe the last leg especially in bad weather. Hopefully off there again either next weekend or in 5 weeks time. This time im doing North to South. Im sure the scenery will seem vastly different but vagely familiar.

Fantastic Achievement Ladies , Well done . !! Especially in the winter months , a New Year to remember , you should try the Scottish National Trail , I completed that last year .

Well done ladies for completing the West Highland Way in winter, you did the walk over the Christmas period and I thought that was Father Christmas walking through the gate after leaving Kinlochleven but it was Nicola with her red coat and what looked like a white trim round the hood but when she got closer to the camera it was fluorescent green and realised it wasn't Father Christmas, Well done again and enjoyed your series.

Well done ladies! I'm very curious about your footwear. I'm also planning to go in winter and still in doubt what to bring for the wet and cold. Love from the Netherlands
@WildHomeHiking12 күн бұрын
Thanks! We're both wearing vivobarefoot tracker winter boots. They were great, kept my feet warm and dry. The only thing I struggled with slightly was the impact. The West Highland Way goes along a lot of forestry tracks and I found walking on hard surfaces with not much cushioning aggravated my knee. I had recently had a knee injury though so that also played a big role. Hope you have a great time! 🙂
@FINNAcollective12 күн бұрын
@@WildHomeHiking Thanks, great to know. Probably will use the same or will go for altra boots for a bit more cushioning. Hope you are feeling way better now with your knee. Always a struggle to do the things you love while having an injury. But you did it!
