You nailed it. A few years ago I nearly got lost during winter time because I left my usual dog walk track. I didnt have any light with me and I was lucky to find my way back to my car just before complete darkness. Since then I never go anywhere without at least one lamp. A good key chain lamp plus a headlamp is a minimum to me. Cheers.

@ I gave headlamps to my nieces for Christmas to get in their car for any case. I hope they got the message...

I agree that a light very important. I would also add a Swiss army knife or a small Spyderco. A little companion knife is so useful next to a fixed knife. Ps. Also add a pressure bandage. When you need it, you are glad to have it.. all though mine is still unused ;)
