Hi Gabriel, a good move to bring some snacks and other drinks with you in case you are left with no energy it's always better to have extra calories you burn so many calories on these hikes and that's the reason for getting sugar in your system quick energy to burn. You can never eat too much with the amount of walking you do. You are really getting a sense of the entire region with all that hiking and moving around I'm sure you miss the swimming and hot tubes of Japan and Iceland.

Amul fresh cream is not a drink. It is used in cooking to make curry creamy. It is also used to make desserts like cake, fruit cream, ice cream, etc. If you want whipped cream, you have to whip it up with sugar. Indians don't eat whipped cream out of a can and that kind of thing won't be available except in some shops in big cities.

A few ideas for you...I think you would really enjoy being a Base Camp manager or similar for a Himalayan expedition sometime. It would give you the opportunity to access the high altitude areas and do remote day treks over weeks, access permit only areas - contact climbing clubs back home or the Indian Climbing Federation if interested. The Himalayan Trust set up by Sir Ed Hillary also run amazing voluntary work/trekking combos in special permission remote areas. I was taught to only walk as fast uphill as you can easily breathe at high altitude (over 10000 ft) - it's slow but allows you to keep going for long distances...

Climbing heights puts your lungs and fitness to test at all altitudes but generally speaking, altitudes above 8000 feet (2500 m) is the threshold for high altitude illness (like headache, nausea, dizziness, fall in oxygen saturation and in severe cases pulmonary oedema and cerebral oedema) related to low oxygen levels caused by low atmospheric pressure although some physically weak/unfit people, older people, people with comorbidities and dormant illnesses related to lungs and the heart may begin falling sick at altitudes as low as even 5000 feet. Oxygen therapy, simple arrangements like carrying oxygen cans, breathing exercises for lungs, medicines like Acetazolamide when started a day or two before gain in such sort of altitudes above 8000 feet (trading name of the medicine is Diamox), acclimatisation by staying for 2-3 days every 2000 feet gain in altitude and consumption of light food before trekking, staying optimumly hydrated helps in alleviating such situation. Fit men below fifty years of age and fit women below 45 won't have much issue negotiating the heights Gabe has done in Himachal Pradesh in this series unless suffering from comorbidities or dormant diseases of the lungs, the heart or even arthritis. Kasol shown in this video has average elevation of 5150 feet (that is much below 8000 feet threshold) while the Rasol village shown in the same video sits at 8200 feet altitude.
