Beer batter halibut deep fried is the best there is! That’s the sleeping lady mountain just beyond the Cook Inlet on your way back down from the lake. Beautiful 🤩 country!

Oh my gawd, Halibut's my favorite and it looked so tasty cooked as fish n chips with the batter, I'm so jealous. We used to feast on King salmon when I was up there, baked the whole fish and of course King crab, yum...take care and travel on !!

Try hiking in Bridgeport Ca. When I was there a few times training I always wanted to come back as a civilian! Four kids and a mortgage later ill have to live through you!

Thanks for this vid. I drove there from Florida last year. I was in Denali, Soldotna, and Seward. I passed through Anchorage of course. Unfortunately, for 12 days I got rained on 80% of the time. Did you know August is rainy season in AK? I didn’t, & locals told me they were having an unusually wet period, even for Aug. They said I missed months of fantastic weather by about a week. I had a couple of clear days, and the rainy days were still cool. British Columbia in both directions was clear and fantastic. Your view of Denali was great. At Denali Nat. park, they said a lot of people don’t see it when they’re there, because of clouds.

It rained nearly everyday that wasn't winter. Abnormal rainy. Also just had the second slowest winter in anchorage history. You pick a bad year lol

I've hiked to the top of Flattop many times. Used to pick blueberries along the trail. Was it hidden lake that you visited. I swam in that lake once. It was a tad bit chilly as I recall.

@@kellyhays23 That is interesting, never even thought peanut oil would be used for deep frying fish. Good thing a friend of mine wasn't there ... shes deathly allergic to both peanuts and fish ! ( however I'd love to try it )
