I've watched hundreds, if not thousands, of videos about the Everest Base Camp trek in the past 12 months. During that period, I'd estimate that more than 60% of my time on KZbin was spent watching them. However, without a doubt, I can confidently say that this series stands out as *The* *Best* *Everest* *Base* *Camp* *videos* *I've* *ever* *seen* . What sets it apart, especially, is its narration-it boasts the best editing, cinematic shots, and framing. Watching it, I felt like I was right there on the journey. Thank you for creating such an amazing video series!

Nice trekking! You guys did EBC in a really great style! When I was 22 I wrote a list of 22 things to do before I was 40. The only task I never completed was exactly doing the EBC tracking. I am now 56. May be it's time to finally complete my list!

We really liked this vlog, and those maps are super flimsy and easy to rip so don't beat yourself up to bad. Our ABC map must have had 1,000 rips in it by the time we finished. So glad you guys made it, truly shows the saga your body goes through to make up there. Well done. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Flora, discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful video of EBC trek, congratulations. Having done it three times (the lazy way, Lukla, porters, guide) loved your coverage of the terrain and special places like the memorials. By the way, the Nepali definition of "flat" is "a little bit up, a little bit down" 🤣 Gentle suggestion...never use diamox unless you feel the need! I understand why you bypassed the summit of Kala Pattar, which gives the classic view of Everest from the Nepali side, but you must do it next time!

Well done to both of you! I've watched many EBC vlogs, but yours was all the more impressive by the extra challenges you set yourselves. The scenery is spectacular, and it was lovely to see the snow-covered version at the end. A small grumble - I just wish they hadn't put that ugly metal sign covering the iconic EBC rock!

How cool is it that you had an impromptu encounter with Nims!! I've seen 14 peaks at least 3 times now. Please tell me you asked him a bunch of queations? Also, congratulations on an amazing non guided trek to EBC. The fact you get to see other small villages and experience more culturally highlights along the way is epic. Now, the only thing missing is the obvious the guide telling you personal stories and highlighted the hot spots along the way.

And also the extra route as well. Great challenge and the freedom of doing whatever you want and when.☺️ great that you‘d been talking about the perspect of hireing a guide and porters. Why you didn’t have a restday in Dingboche? A little tip at the end😉 you might will have hiking/trekking shoes at your next trip? It will keep your feet’s warm in the snow, you will have a better handling on the ground as well and protection. Just as a little tip:) All in all thank you, sharing it with us😁

Amazing video. You brilliantly convey the atmosphere of the trek. Just a side note: Did the EBC and 3 passes trek with my teenage kids in late March 24 and have to say that, if you have some experience hiking the Alps and perhaps some off the beaten track places, hiking the EBC without a guide is a whole lot easier as you always find a room, a table in the dining hall (except Gorak Shep) and navigation is really not an issue just using your phone with any offline map or a paper map with a compass. Nevertheless, hiring a guide is totally fine, no shame in doing that. Especially in a bigger group it’s not going to impact your overall budget too much anyway and learning more about the local culture might be just worth it.

Flora, I have really enjoyed watching your videos, great cinematography and narration. I've booked to go to Nepal to do a trek in October. I'm trying to decide whether to do the two passes or Annapurna Circuit. I am leaning towards the two passes which includes the EBC as it looks spectacular. I noticed that you were wearing hiking shoes rather than boots - which do you recommend? and didn't seem to be wearing thick jackets. Did you not feel cold up there? Looking forwards to watching more of your adventures.
@floragonning
@floragonning 7 ай бұрын
I did the Annapurna circuit 2 years back and I loved that trek too! The nice thing about that one is that it’s not an out/back route, but a circle. So each day you get to see something new! Another plus of Annapurna is that is was less crowded. However if you do that one I def recommend starting in Besisahar and doing the entire trek until Nayapul! Of course EBC is also awesome and def if you include 2 passes. You’re gonna have a great time no matter which one you choose I’m sure! Also, I have Nike trailrunners. I prefer them over hiking shoes bc they’re less big/heavy and since I travel long term, it’s easier to carry with me. They did the job perfectly! Make sure to take something that is Goretex though :) And it wasn’t that cold around this time of year, only up in Lobuche was I wearing multiple layers. Good luck and have fun with all the planning!!

Fantastic achievement. Just returned from EBC so were probably on the trail at the same time! How did the return to lobuche go? are you planning a final video? Our trip stayed overnight @ EBC- looking back there was absolutely no way we could physically have trekked Lobuche-EBC and back in one day. I definitely wouldn't recommend it (but also wouldn't recommend staying at Gorak Shep either as it looked pretty grim when we passed)

Hi Flora, what a fantastic adventure and beautifully filmed too. Loved the content, now subscribing for more. Couple of questions, if you don't mind. Firstly, what time if year did you do this? Secondly, did it take much planning to do this self supported? And I'd love to watch a kit and organisational video. How you booked it all, what you took, etc, etc. Planning on doing this next year, and obviously using a porter is cheating...

Thank you so much for your kind words!! 🙏 we did the trek end of March/beginning of April 2024. I wouldn’t say it was a lot of planning but it definitely was a little bit of work! We made sure we knew the route and in which places to stop for the night (there’s plenty of info online about this!). And this is not absolutely necessary, but we also researched accommodation options in each place, checking their ratings on google maps, just to make sure we had a solid place to go to after a long day of hiking and we didnt have to check out several option and decide when tired. Hope you have the best time next year!! 🙌✨

Please create a comparison video between the Nepal Himalayas and Pakistan’s Karakoram Range. Pakistan boasts 4555 known/explored mountain peaks that exceed 6,000 meters in height(More than 4 times higher than that of Nepal with 6000 meters height), representing the highest concentration of such tall peaks found anywhere in the world, even more than the rest of the Earth combined. Additionally, there are 108 known peaks that exceed 7,000 meters and 5 that surpass 8,000 meters above sea level. Despite this, the Karakoram Range is not as well-known as the Himalayas, partly due to Pakistan’s negative image.
