Hiking Underwear - The Best Underwear For Hiking

Not for the first time - I'm talking pants. Do you lot wear specific underwear when hiking? Do you think regular undies will do? Is there a brand you swear by? I'd love to hear in the comments.

There you are, out in the weather, warm and comfortable in all your kit, delighting in the freedom , the hills, the beauty of it all. Apart from that chafing around the nether regions which, although not deadly in the grand scheme of things, puts the kibosh on it all. Is it worth stripping off three layers, in the rain, to attempt to correct this blight on the day? No! Be as careful in choice of knickers as you are with socks, which is obvious. Good stuff, Ewan.

They are great pants, i purchased one pair a while ago after an issue with chaffing, like you i saw the advert and thought i would give them a try. i have since purchased another 4 pairs, which they are not cheap, normally £17 each or 4 pairs for £60 , but are well worth the cost considering the comfort and no more chaffing..

I buy them in the multipacks too. You're right about the price...but then if you compare them to say designer underwear where you're paying for the brand alone, they're definitely worth it.

I hike a ton for my job and have been trying to get ready for the fire season. The biggest issue I've ever had were riding up and chafing. Looking to try some other options

Be careful ordering from Step One if you are outside the UK, like I am (Netherlands), for after seeing this great video I have ordered the same underwear with Step One. Until today I haven't received anything (ordered over a month ago). I had a few responses about shipment was lost and resending, but with no result up today. I really got enthousiastic about your video and I know you, Erwan, can't help this for you are a customer like I am, but recommending something of company failing to deliver doesn't create happy customers of Step One. But I really like your video. Not blaming you for anything, just Step One or rather Step None.

Although not the trendy choice nowadays but in my experience you can't beat a pair of merino briefs by EDZ or some more expensive brands. I don't like boxers in everyday wear or for out walking in but that's my 2 pence worth!

Ewan well done for this. It is a topic that should be covered but isn’t. Currently for trips I use a variety of trunks. My go to are Icebreaker but I will also use synthetic pairs by either Rohan or Paramo. I have never used bamboo although I am looking to. I have never heard of this company but I will look them out now. I hope to do the Highland Way next year, if we ever get out of this pandemic and pants are very important so thanks for this video. Keep it up.

Pretty much any brand name synthetic underwear can accomplish what most higher-end ones will. But the actual elimination of back-crack-to-balls swamp butt is a game changer.

I've had really great luck with merino boxers, specifically Icebreaker but Smartwool is good too. Kinda pricey but I feel like its better to have 2-3 pair of good, fast drying underwear while hiking than a whole pack of cotton undies

I got myself a pair of smart wool boxers which have been working for day hikes for months for me. I wore then for the start of the west highland way but 2 days in, friction started occurring. I was lucky i bought myself a pair of sweat wiking sport shorts from lidl before setting off, I wore them for the rest of the hike and had no problems at all.

Need something to stop yer bits clanging together😁 I got some no ride up long leg boxers from Amazon and they aren't too tight Great for long distance. However the best and most comfy with great support have been bawbags. They also let me fly the flag😁

I've been using the step one boxers for atleast a year there the best boxers I've ever had a did have doubts about durability however ive 5 pairs and not one pair have given up a top product 100% agree with the video keep up the good work fella yer videos are spot on

Thank you for this review - I hate that I end up wearing a g-string and might as well do the dance from _Silence of the Lambs_ when I'm two miles out. God knows I've worked out a ton of adjusting moves to not look so obvious (not that anyone's going to call me out for it that I don' t know). Going to give these a try and maybe save a sheep in the process.
