Hiking West Branch Trail | Beautiful Adventure in the Rawah Wilderness

Our hike in West Branch Trail was our second adventure in the Rawah Wilderness in northern Colorado. After seeing some serious beauty on Rawah Trail we had to come back and see more. Plus, we didn't make it to Crater Lakes last time so this time we were determined!
We hiked West Branch Trail through the wilderness to Island Lake and braved the cold water - a couple times! After our refreshing dip and some well deserved PB&Js we made a long, steep ascent to the nearby ridge. And that's when we finally laid eyes on Crater Lakes in the valley below, way below... After a lot of up, there was a lot of down! But we made it to the lakes and we even spotted a bighorn sheep along the way. It was a great adventure with plenty of scenery and solitude.
