Those are some awesome falls. I need to get my butt up there and finally do some hiking. Yes I'd like to see you come back to KZbin!

I have to get back on here. I can’t let you have all the fun! LOL! Thanks for watching, my friend. Yeah this is an awesome hike. I didn’t even show all the falls in the video. If you get a chance check it out sometime.

Definitely need to get up there and do a overnight hike in the park. My daughter and I hike a lot in Grayson but really need to branch out. Look forward to more of your videos!

Thanks for checking out my video. I don’t do a lot in Shenandoah, I guess mainly cause its usually so crowded, but it is a nice part with some great stuff to see and do.

Great review of the trail! I've taken a break from all social media for a year now, and it's been great. I do search for lots of outdoor content on KZbin though, so I hope you stick around..... any trout in the plunge pools in that stream?
@SmellNRoses2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out my video. I fully understand you on taking a break from social media. Sometimes its fun but it comes with a lot of negativity too and we just dont need that. I’m not sure if there are any fish in that creek, but there are some really good places to fish in the nearby Rapidan Wildlife Management area. The Rapidan and Conway Rivers are stocked trout streams.

Damn sure want you back... Good to see you. That is a sweet series of falls. I was going to take a break myself this winter but kept finding stuff to review and get out a few times... Good to have you back Roses!

Thanks so much, my friend. Yeah I dont know I’ve still be getting out and about but honestly I’m a bit burned out on recording and posting videos to the channel. Not ready to quit totally but not sure when I’ll be fully back online. As for this hike, yes its a good one. Spectacular waterfalls back in there. Thanks so much for checking it out.

@@SmellNRoses I know what you mean... Sometimes I think I enjoyed my hikes more when not doing all the stuff we have to do to get clips for a video.. Not to mention pounds lighter without all the cameras, tripods, batteries, filters etc.

beautiful waterfalls and really nice hike, some decent views up there too... // you know i'm glad you are back, it has been awhile... everyone needs a break from things sometimes... especially if you end up hiking at places you already made videos of// i dont make so many any more myself mostly because i keep going back to places i already have videos of.. it is a lot of work to put these things together and doing the same video over gets tiring, but i sure hope you keep taking us with you on bigger trips and when you go new places... that trip out west was a fantastic string of videos// youtube is a tough business because the most viewed videos are of the most popular places// i say if you enjoy making the video, keep doing it/ if it feels too much like work, don't/ but a lot of us will be here off and on forever, so if you post it we will watch it eventually hahha

Yes these are some nice waterfalls. Its a great hike up in there, a lot of neat stuff in addition to the falls. I totally agree with you about making videos. It is quite a bit of work, often with very little if any “rewards” in the end. It definitely needs to be fun to keep doing it. There may not be many of you guys, but I know some of you genuinely enjoy watching and following along with what I’m doing, and that does my it worthwhile. I appreciate all your views and support, my friend.

I have never been to Shenandoah National Park, but hope to change that in the near future. Looked like some great hiking! Hope you are not going anywhere my firend. We all go through those burn out periods with Youttube. I usually just step back and take a brake like you are then after a break I feel like making some more videos. Its funny I can publish a video and be really proud of it and it hardly gets any views. Then I can publish one that I think is going to be a total flop and it gets all kinds of views. Never seems to make sense for some reason.

Thanks so much, my friend. You really should plan a trip to Shenandoah National Park. Sadly it can get crowded but it really is a spectacular place. Lots of outstanding trails and vistas and some decent camping. When I was a kid me and my buddies always camped on my family’s property or a neighbor’s land. When I was old enough to drive the first time I ever camped away from home was in Shenandoah NP. Good memories. Yeah KZbin just isn’t as much fun as it used to be. What I’ve achieved with the channel has far exceeded my wildest expectations but it is sometimes disappointing to see views drop off or not seeing many comments from friends. And for a mostly hiking channel, only one or two hike videos rank among my most viewed videos. I have a couple videos that I absolutely despise now but I have to leave them up because they generate so many views. LOL you just never know. Add to the mix that I can post a one minute reel on Instagram without putting hardly any effort into editing or production and it can get thousands of views within a few hours. Meanwhile I can work really hard on a cool video for youtube and it wont hardly be watched. No regrets though the handful of loyal subscribers makes it worth it, not to mention the people like you that I’ve met in person and nowadays actually consider as real friends.

Hiked (actually fished) this river many times. The "unnamed" creek with the waterfall has a name, its Negro Run later named Tims River but is still referred to as the former on many maps. I once bushwacked to those falls...you're right its work, particularly on the way back out. Its hard to locate the trail when the brush grows in.

Thanks so much for checking it out. Currently you can get a 7 day pass for $15. Not bad at all if you’re in the area for several days. This park has tons to see and do.

Definitely missed you and your videos. Appreciate your approach, as I enjoy peeping over your shoulder to see places I know I'll never have the opportunity to visit. This body has become too old to don a pack and climb those trails. This video is a good example of exactly what I'm talking about. Thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent on the trail with you. God Bless. Godspeed in your journeys.

Hey, good to see you. I know what you mean. I’ve been off most social media myself. I love those waterfalls. I like the steep technical sections there. Actually I am trying to find ways to get back into some rock climbing. Thank you for the video. I hope you keep up the videos.

Hey thanks, my friend. Good to see you too. I’ve been active on some other platforns but have not been on KZbin as much. Not sure if I’ll make a full return but also not looking to completely quit just yet. We’ll see. Yes hope you get back into climbing. Definitely plenty of good places to climb in our area. You’ll have to leave me out of that though lol.
