Hiking Winchester Mountain Lookout - Fall Color in the North Cascades

Winchester Mountain is a popular climb in the Mount Baker area, known for its panoramic views and rather notorious mountain road it's an adventure. I've had this one on my list for a while and had to see it in full fall color. To 13 year old me who had never climbed a mountain before this seemed intimating at the time, and over a decade later I climbed it with ease, enjoy!

Winchester lookout is magnificent! I was up there in August and did the high pass but think I might have to go back here and climb Larrabee love that red mountain. That road sure is crazy eh? I have a Jeep Wrangler so it works but it's def gnarly!

Winchester has been on my to-do list as well for quite awhile. I have a Jeep but it's old so I'm not sure I want to try my luck on that road. Walking the road sounds like a better option.

If you go past the campground, theres some little trails with great views further back there!

This was the last hike my wife did with me before she became disabled and can no longer hike anymore. We drove up and camped at Twin Lakes. We picked lots of Huckleberries on the way up to the fire lookout.
