Pinwheels might help Eve and Jude keep on walking. It worked for my nieces and nephew when they would get easily distracted/bored and lag behind on hikes. To make the pinwheel spin they gotta keep on walking! It distracts them from complaining or getting bored or stopping to play.

oh Eve is funny! When you're praising the beauty of the location and she's got her top over her face, symbolic gesture, you can force her to hike, but you can't force her to enjoy it! Btw, I'm not a great hiller myself so I can sympathize. Pearl does so great, is she in pain? What made you chose to adopt the kids you did? Eg. why China, why kids with obvious extra needs, especially when 9 kids comes with its own special issues ;) also who sleeps where in the RV? You must have HUGE hearts and be PLENTIFUL in patience. Hats off to you and your bio sons for opening your hearts and your home!

does sweet Eve have low tone? my son would do this when he was young. and we found out he has a form of muscular dystrophy that affects his energy. you could figure out an accommodation of some sort for her. it is important for the kids with ds to be fit but maybe there is something that allows her to go only so far. safe travels!

good question, something I've wondered about. Loving, giving children who are willing to open up their family to new siblings, might find the reality more challenging than they imagined. I think your boys must have been really positive about it because you have done this 5 times!! Such a wonderful gift to give a child and a brave one! I bet you get so much back from them in love. 😊

Just wondering if a different pair of shoes would help. just make her a bit more comfortable? one without holes, that are more fitted and supporting for the foot? Her feet wouldn't hurt or get tired as quickly. It might be just one less thing to worry her, and you on your next walk! You are all super patient with her that's so nice. 😊
