Hiking it …. I cycled to the top of Y Garn ….. one of the best views from there in the whole of Snowdonia. 👍👍👍👍

Do it again from Llanberis side and try and find a nice day. Honestly it’s a stunning view especially in winter with snow everywhere.

I just hiked the same route today solo, although I came down via devils kitchen...looks like I was more fortunate with the weather than you were, I must say i'm impressed that you took this on in such bad visibility, not sure about you but I always find it pretty scary in such bad weather on these mountains and sometimes have to return down the same way I came...very brave of you! I was inspired by your video of the pen y fan horse shoe so took that on solo but had to come back from summit via the same way due to a white out and being worried i'd get lost...gutted! going to head back there to complete the horse shoe before summer is over....looking forward to seeing more of your adventures :) happy hiking

Y is pronounced as "ugh" ( I know, I know) literally translates to "The" :) Nice videos, keep 'em coming

Haha I discovered this soon after filming! Frustratingly I’d googled it and the translator I used told me ‘why’ 😂 I know for future though!

Brilliant vid. Love y garn. Annoying doing a hike in hill fog isn't it? In my latest vid I get to see a peak I've been before in a similar kind of hill fog and see the view in sunlight this time, the difference is staggering, it's why I love being in the mountains. ❤❤❤

Look at VJ Sport trail running shoes, I'm a local fell runner and that's what I wear when running around that area, they have loads more grip than hiking boots, they're not waterproof but they drain fast, with merino wool socks on shorter hikes they're great, I just love the extra confidence the amazing grip gives.

Graces Adventures i went up Helvellyn last week and was soaked when I got to top. Was so glad I had another layer in my pack. Walking with wet feet is the worst though. Such a nice feeling when u get them dry again. 😀

For your next adventure in Wales, I might suggest Cadair Berwyn. Wonderful upland expanse, plus a fantastic waterfall.

Have you tried a Berhause deluge waterproof. They are really and truly waterproof! We were wearing ours going up the Snowdon miners track at end July and nothing went through them, even tho it rained there and back.

Been up Y Garn twice and both times had no view! Contrast with Snowdon that I’ve been up four times and had clear views every time.

Great Cinematography!! Your feet got wet because your socks were acting like a wick and drawing it into your boots. Wouldn't make any difference how tight your boots were. If you put waterproof trousers on that would have solved it. Or if you had been wearing loose trousers over the top of the socks, or even gaiters.

It’s a great walk. You could of made it a circular walk by continuing on down the other side of Y Garn and down the Devils kitchen path. Then back around Llyn Idwal to the start. 👍

Y translates to 'the' in English so its basically 'the Garn'. 'Why Garn' is acceptable to ask half way up the mountain though as it's so heavy on the legs with basically no work for the upper body. I always ask 'why Garn' after starting up it lol.

Commiserations on the poor weather, which doesn't pay much attention to the weekends in Wales. The easiest way to pronounce "Y Anything" is "The Anything". Use the dull-sounding "the" that sounds like "thuh", not the one that sounds like "thee". Then, if you really want to nail it, just dispense with the "th" sound at the start, leaving "Uh Garn".
