One thing I can tell you about SM Entertainment groups is that their music videos and lyrics are most of the time different from each other. Which you've pointed out too! There's always different stories going on within them, but that's what makes it so interesting!! Every SM Entertainment group has a backstory and their music videos contribute to that; keeping the story on going, and that's why fans always try to figure out what is going on and what different theory perspectives can they get from it! I believe the voice you refer at 1:38 is this part (1:23) right? That amazing voice is from *Wendy* (position: main vocalist of Red Velvet). Wendy is one of the best vocalist in K-Pop. Her vocal skills is no joke and many critiques approve that. She is a versatile vocalist, her voice tone somehow can change according to the song genre (i recommend you to check more of Red Velvet songs). Wendy also has 4 octaves vocal range, which is the widest in K-Pop, along with Super Junior Kyuhyun & Apink Eunji, so far). And btw *Wendy has a collab with John Legend, the song called "Written In The Stars", and its sounds really beautiful!*

Red Velvet is my favorite girl group, and I'm actively following around 12 different ones, not even kidding. The song doesn't even come close to showcasing all their vocal talent. Wendy is the best female vocalist of this generation and Seulgi is incredibly talented as well. Joy has the most interesting tone.
