You mentioned the secure module via RS-485 to overcome the problem of simply ripping the unit off the wall and bridging the lock outputs. But the module only allows for a single secure output. How do you regain use of the two outputs securely in the same way (for both a pedestrian gate and vehicle gate say)? It appears this is a limitation.

Thanks. Perfect video and those devices very good. The only problem with outdoor stations, is that the hik-connect app is not working without an internet connection and an indoor station and also that there is no Platform Access in network settings although the user manual mentions this.

Are you able to show how the door sensor works (e.g. when a door station is connected to a door contact sensor). Is the door status is shown in the indoor station, for both V and/or D series devices?

You talk about taking a snap shot of a person as they press the button however how do I get that to work? I am using the DS-KV6113-WPE1 as a stand alone unit and I have placed a memory card into the doorbell and it is also directed to my NVR for continuous recording. Can i get it to work with what I have or do I need an FTP server or do I need an indoor station? Currently all I get is a notification that just displays a bell icon with no actually image.

So it looks like I have to have a FTP server to get the images working I have managed to get my FTP up and running however, the issue now the doorbell won't save images to the server either by pressing the button on the bell or via motion detection. I have tested the FTP does in fact work on another camera so the weak link is the doorbell.

on the HIK-Connect app om latest firmware it should give you that image, especially if you have the SD card fitted inside the indoor station ,

@@DVSLTD yes that’s what I thought it should do but it doesn’t. I am also using it as a stand alone doorbell as I don’t have the indoor station. I do have it hooked into a NVR but that doesn’t really alter what the doorbell does as I am only using it to record footage.

How did you get rid of the black ring around the video stream? bought a brand new device from a authorized reseller (manufactured in 05/2021) and the video stream has a these black "hole" look like a ring doorcam. also your image looks really really good. did they change the camera to a cheaper crappier model? seems that the (A) device has some camera correction in firmware and the (B) device not oO there seems even more bugs... the (B) version has only Door1 in menu... Door2 is complete missing sorry for not ordering on your store, but after england skipped the eu, the import taxes are quite high.

Hi, your video is great. There isn't too much (updated) information on the net about how to configure HIKVision intercoms. One quick question, Is it required an indoor station to make the HIKConnect app to work with DS-KV3118-WME1? I could connect HIKConnect app to DS-KV3118-WME1 using the IP address but there is no "unlock" button in the app and it doesn't get any notification from the intercom. Is my device broken or an indoor station is mandatory? Thanks

on the rear of the unit there is a relay , you can select if you need NO or NC connection and connect into this, you should have the trigger input on the gate for external connection

I recently installed the exact setup through hard wired connection, all works well on the mobile client with an android phone but not with an ios device as the call function will not send the push notification through, with the ios device you will only get the notification if when the intercom call is made you have the actual hikconnect open on the ios device otherwise you do not get a notification! Have you encountered this issue before or have any ideas ? Thank you!

couple of things, please make sure the App and firmware on the devices are updated of course, and on the IOS make sure notifications are allowed for the app under notifications , and make sure do not disturb is not set to on

Hi Dave. Another great video ! One question. On 17:15 you are enable 2 x relays. Is there any trick to enable them ? On my IVMS (3.2.0.10) is a blank screen. Firmware on monitor is the same. Only difference I'm using DS-KD8003-IME1. Are you using IVMS AC version ?

you can power it that way but it will need to be programmed , once it is you can add it as a camera but it will record 24/7 not just on the button press , 😊

I'm trying to connect an additional reader (DS-K1107M) To intercom (DS-KV8113-WME1) now that’s where the problem arises! I connected them via RS-485 communication, the reader shows no signs of life its correctness has been checked and it is correct. Should something special be turned on and adjusted somewhere in the intercom, the connection is according to the scheme from the instructions, The DIP switch is set as instructed

I am waiting on a reply back from your tech guys but no rush. I brought the modular version of this which is working great. But the Hikconnect is having issues when someone presses the call button. Seems there is some issue with Hikconnect and Android 10 phones. Have they found a work around for this at all? I can view and have audio. But its just not calling the phone.

@@DVSLTD thanks for the reply. Yes all software for phone, intercoms and monitor stations all up to date. It has been a long ongoing issue prior to upgrading customers systems. We had hoped that more info would come from Hikvision but they have sadly done nothing about it. Iphones are working with no issue. But of course we have a mixed group of customers and quite a few have been moving over to android.

Hi and thanks, we have done it before but its very messy to do that , they are designed to be on the same network , so wouldn’t openly recommend it as you would need to have fixed IP address at each end on the routers and do port forward etc , and depends on the setup may not even work,

Let me get this straight. Is it impossible to record event video to an SD card for reviewing later? It seems mad/useless that a security camera - which this is - doesn't automatically record motion event video which can be accessed through iVMS-4200 or Hik-Connect. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Hi kay , no the event snapshot will be saved into the indoor screen and also the HIK-Connect app will show the event notification if you use the app , you can also add the outer call station as video channel to NJVR /DVR as IP device and use motion also 😊

All my Hikvision IP cameras allow me to access motion event video recordings on their internal SD card directly from iVMS-4200 or Hik-Connect without using a NJVR /DVR. Logically, I would expect the video intercom camera to do the same thing but you seem to be confirming that it can't. I'm at a loss to understand why Hikvision haven't enabled it since it's a feature that most customers would expect to be there. I would never buy this product without this functionality.

@@jacekk6913 It's called a VIDEO intercom - and it's perfectly capable of recording video: Hikvision have just crippled it. The software even includes a completely useless MOTION DETECTION setting for the "video camera". No video recordings from that either. It's so pathetic it makes me really angry - especially as the indoor stations can accept high capacity SD cards. All Hikvision had to do was state clearly in any of their video intercom literature that the camera doesn't record video and I wouldn't have wasted my money on it. Now they kick me when I'm down two grand by releasing the updated series 9 video intercom which somehow manages to record a whole 7 seconds of video when the alarm is triggered. How about fixing my useless 1-year old series 8 'Pro' model Hikvision - or don't you want to keep your customers?

@@kayberry6292 Stil - Intercom is not a camera. Indoor station has a SD card slot but it does nothing. You wanna to fix something that is not there on purpose. Write an email to HK support.

Hi , the 1st Gen 2 wire kit comes with the 2 wire PSU unit, same as the modular 2 wire they both Require the 2 wire interface unit and PSU , we sell them as kits or separate components 😊

Good day I saw some of your tutorial. Maybe You can guide me a bit. Local Hikvision team in Veracruz, Mex. aren’t able to correctly set up Intercom to see video from door bell and also cameras. On beginning all been set up via Network Video Recorder Model: DS-7608NI-Q1/8P And run well..... but I saw option that also I can see another cameras on IP Video Intercom Kit Model: DS-KIS604-P(C). Then technician told me need to add switch and all cameras have to go thought another switch and then to NVR. He set up all, I can see other cameras on intercom but…. Now any call via intercom not generate video call only audio and other side not hear me, call not appear on mobile phone. I think it is total mess up now. Probably additional switch port was not need at all, just need proper configuration. Evry where I saw only tutorials for set up intercom with home display or into NVR. But no where any tutorial about adding intercom to NVR and get also desired ip camera viev on LCD intercom display as is useful way to quickly check surrounding situation.

why nobody tells you that with this intercom you need an extra 12V PSU and an extra cable for the electric door lock / magnetic lock.... which i think it is a very NOT smart (crappy) thing....... why couldn't hikvision make an 12V output on the door intercom, because right now i really not understand for what did they make it PoE because you're forced to use an PSU and to draw an extra cable.......

I get it , they are looking at this as an improvement but a lock should be powered by a battery backed up supply and it wouldn’t be fail safe as you could destroy the unit and open the lock , and each lock is different power requirement

@@DVSLTD There are also some Hikvision locks if i'm not mistaken but think about this, i have a switch backed-up from an UPS, so i draw the Lan cable from it and should have backup for the switch backup for the intercom and door lock if the door lock is powered by the intercom door unit, i hope i explain right and make my self understood....
