Can lond distance cable of siren from the DVR be a problem

Great video, Thanks. I didn't think BNC was still widely used and mostly all NVR's was POE. I used a DVR with BNC inputs years ago. Whats the benefit of using one of these over a POE nvr? Don't these machine need power at the camera end?

Hi, Yes, the DVR / HVR market is literally booming. Especially here in the UK. HVR's 'Hybrid Video Recorders' are a huge step forward in terms of analytics. Eg: human & vehicle recognition. These NVR's now flourish with the introduction of high spec 24-hour colour cameras, such as the Hikvisions 'ColorVU' units 💡 that are roughly one-third of the cost of an IP camera. While the HVR still maintains the ability to accept IP cameras. Such as auto tracking PTZ's / Doorbells and Darkfigher IP camera etc etc. Not to mention the POC 'Power over Coax' HVR's that also get the 'Acusense' technology and benefit from certified cable runs of 200 meters. 200 meters is out of reach for most NVR units unless using a POE or POE+ injector somewhere in the equation. Always remember that coax technology has been around forever and that because of this, lots of properties are cabled accordingly, so there is a great opportunity there to save our customers some money, while giving them the latest toys on the market. To answer your question. No, you do not need power at the camera end 'Front End' as it's known in our industry as RG59+2 cable carries the power from the 'Back End' where the NVR / DVR is located. @@CCTVSystemsUK Thanks 👍 , I didn't know that and always thought these machines which ran coax you needed power at the camera end and didn't realise the coax can provide the power as well as video.

When I have a parked car in the driveway, and arm my cameras, cars driving past at night there headlights reflect off my parked car and set off the camera's siren, any reason why that would happening.

I had to share my app with my installer, but after doing that, my cameras now activate themselves when they are off, especially overnight , go to bed with thwm turned off, and they armed in the morning, not knowing, I walk outside and they go off, any idea what i can do, installer going to investigate soon, but I think hes abit puzzled. cheers
