Having colour is great but having an added LED light to the camera makes it a target for flying bugs and predators like spiders triggering many false recording from my experience. Using a separately located light or IR illuminator solves false triggers while improving night accuracy. I believe but not certain that some flying bugs and animals can see IR illumination we as humans can not.

some insects seems to detect IR. Had to turn off the IR light on my cameras during certain months in Thailand to avoid insects interfering a lot

I switch off my front cameras IR as the street lights are more than capable of identification. Rear garden I leave them on and supplement with an IR illuminator.

Thanks for the vid. However, you're comparing Apples to Oranges by using cameras with different spec. I would find it more helpful if both cameras were same spec - that way we would be truly comparing which is better, whereas with this setup we are comparing which features are better to have, which gives a false outcome.

Hi Zethi you can setup the camera to record but you wont be able to change or modify any of the settings in the camera. It would also most likely record all the time.

If you want to catch license plate get a LPR , separate from your other camers they cost a bit tho like $500+ a camera

Hi, I am getting error messages when trying to share or download and view downloaded mp4 clips from my Hikvision NVR. The only way I can view the clips is within the Hikvision app or directly on NVR. How can I download a clip and share it to someone on via text message to view on their iphone and how can i email a clip for someone to view on their computer? These seem like basic functions. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi Angela the other way is possibly via web browser but you will need to know the IP address of the NVR.

Hi there, was wondering if you can help me. I have a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. Last Friday my security company was at my house swapping it out for a new one and they must not have set the date right because yesterday I went to play back footage and it was saying it was Tuesday, October 18 (when in fact it was Monday, October 17). I reset the date yesterday at noon to Monday but the problem is when I go to play back today Tuesday, it is showing me yesterday's footage (I guess because it was showing as Tuesday yesterday morning until lunch). When will the recorder catch up and record in real time or is there something else I need to go? Live play is showing the correct day and time as of noon yesterday, Monday 10/17. My security company is absolutely terrible and are of no help but as a last resort I will make them come back out.
