The reason Bauer looked like a hostage in that one clip is because press conference were done via zoom during 2020. His shirt said free Joe Kelly who famously threw a ball at Carlos Correa’s head (allegedly) in retribution for the Astros cheating scandal. People were on Kelly’s side because the league gave him a larger punishment than any player on the 2017 Astros, who CHEATED TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES. Still, it’s pretty bad to throw at a guy’s head, and it’s cowardly and outdated. Luckily, Kelly missed, but the intent seemed pretty obvious.

Bauer is an interesting player and he actually does vlogs showcasing the life of a major leaguer. Baseball Doesn't Exist did a good video on him explaining the controversy surrounding him and his career that you should check out.

Trevor Bauer has been accused of horrible things, and a lot of people seem to believe he’s guilty in spite of his claims of innocence. To me, especially around gender, he gives off a vibe of master manipulator, so I’m inclined to be suspicious of him. It’s really unfortunate because he is very talented and smart. I’m pretty sure he pitched without using the “sticky stuff” which is technically against the rules but was never enforced for years. In 2021, the popularity and widespread use of sticky stuff was exposed and subsequently was more strictly enforced, but right before that, (in the season of all the clips in this video) Bauer allegedly started using it and had GREAT success, winning a Cy Young and a record setting contract with the dodgers. A few months later he was accused of sexual misconduct and has been black balled out of MLB following his long suspension. Before his alleged misdeeds were exposed, he was widely respected and enjoyed for his unique personality. Much like Greinke or Votto, he was bold enough to show his silly side during games and in the press. He was fun! But in hindsight it really feels like he’s just… off in some way. It’s hard to explain out of context.

Bauer walked off the mound in the second to last clip like Connor McGregor does when he won fights. The last clip Bauer walks off the mound and does "The Chop" with his hand/arm it's a reference to the Atlanta Braves' (Native-American branded) fans that do it. Other teams fans with Native American inspired names do it in other sports too. Watching an entire crowd do it while chanting is pretty cool to see.

Trevor Bauer was accused of rape & assault. MLB banned him.Then this summer his lawyer finally got video of the "victim" days before their first date discussing what he makes & setting him up fake charges to get money payoff. Then the day of the date like 15 min before leaving his house she made a video of him sleeping & her still in his bed smiling & laughing with zero bruises. Then text of her & friends discussing to get paid to keep her quiet like she did with others before. So Bauer released the videos & texts clearing him. Just evil, I'm glad she lost

He was given the largest SA/DV suspension in MLB history (324 games) despite no charges and then blacklisted from the league when the arbitrator slashed it by 40%. Considering players like Ji-Hwan Bae got 30 games for being found guilty in court of choking and kicked his girlfriend, it's pretty clear what happened when looking at the facts and manfred's track record.

Yeah he cheated only after trying to raise the alarm on the common cheating methods across the league. He didn’t like it because he didn’t cheat and thought it was unfair. After a long time with no action from the league he said “fuck it, I’ll just cheat too”.
