Love this, but for me rather than lazy some would say I'm "cheap". However my perspective is this - my being cheap is financial stability. It's my bday today, my family and I are on a 10 day vacation in Costa Rica that we started planning and saving for back in January. Before we even got here our airfare, rental car and accommodations were paid for in full. My "cheap" ways always seem to benefit us in the end!

I have been spending far less in recent years because of laziness or procrastination! It really works. Shopping for baby is partly about managing anxiety - my equivalent is shopping for travel conveniences. Your comment about wives buying for the household reminded me of someone I know. The husband recently mentioned that he has never bought anything online. I was flabbergasted! I was laughing at his boomer father for being offline, but this guy is genX, so how?! And then I realized, his wife buys all the things for the household, all his clothes, etc. He’s happy to go without a lot of things, but he’s also enabled by a wife who loves to buy things for other people. I guess they’re a great match!

I stumbled on your channel about six months ago I was going through a lot and had a huge house full of things I decided to get rid of almost all of my belongings and to start All over again, I moved into my house in May and went from a two thousand square feet home to a five hundred square feet apartment, I couldn't be happier minimalism changed my life I don't miss my hundred pairs of shoes,or many different plates and dishes, it's almost like freedom, I also do something else when I want to buy anything I put it in my Walmart cart and wait a week to see if I still want it I feel like I'm free financially and mentally I almost have thirteen thousand dollars saved already because of my new mindset thank you so much for this series ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Unrelated to this video but I just watched your video about living with MS and I found it to be very relieving. I would seriously enjoy & encourage more content around that topic. Those of us with chronic illness find the most comfort in hearing other people's stories. Thanks again.

Unless it is a refill, I put items in my cart and let them stay there for several days before I buy/check out.

Waiting a while before purchasing is a great strategy. Not all organizing solutions are right for us. I usually put things in my wish list for a while before buying. Also, try to not lump all household spending onto yourself as private purchases. If I buy things for myself then it’s mine, but if I buy something for the house, then it’s for the household. I now own fewer private possessions than my husband does. That’s how I separate my purchases. You are looking very beautiful! Hugs!

This is soo good. I loved redecorated my condo for the last 7 years, and now my priority is taking my kids to national parks and maybe Europe one day, so my focus and priority is not re-buying things for the house that i dint need and save that money for our travels. Thanks dear, take care!

A certain amount of laziness is conducive to minimalism, I have found. Just because it makes me want to keep it simple so I have less stuff to fuss about...

Yes, most of what I buy are items for the house. I delay buying by putting the item on my Amazon wish list. After a time I either buy or delete.
@arlenekeith62356 ай бұрын
I do that as well with Amazon.

It’s amazing how much the urge to buy immediately fools us about how un(necessary) the item actually is. The danger of the ease of online shopping!

Is it better to do without or wear something with a hole rather than putting the effort to shop? Sounds like he's just content. Go Andy!

Maybe it's in the name, I'm an Andee, too, except female. 😅 I'm very much like your husband. I call it lazy sometimes, too. Being pregnant with a baby on the way is probably going to give you a load of new challenges where minimalism is concerned. But maybe new ideas for content, too! ❤

I raised my son in the 1980s, and I can tell you that you don't need 95% of the stuff they try to get you to buy.

Totally agree, apart from a car seat there is practically nothing you really need or cannot adapt from what you already have! The baby industry is truly shocking to someone who was a mom in the 80s and 90s :o

Totally agree. It’s marketing from these companies that makes you think you can’t live without it!

Raising my kid now and I wish someone told me this before i watched all the influencers videos on hospital bags and baby bags and everything❤. Still I think I was atleast 50% in control of decided things. The rest 45% i am decluttering and donating as I am watching this.. literally used only 5%

I guess your husband has a "good lazy" but there is a very bad lazy. I enjoyed this a lot though. I think it is good your husband is there to remind you to wait and not get things though.

I feel like men in general need less, use less products (all in 1 shampoo/body wash/face wash) we use shampoo/conditioner/face wash, tampons/pads, bras/under garments just that alone is so many less items/products. Even just vitamins that are recommended to woman vs men. My health care providers have me on calcium, iron, magnesium, probiotic, turmeric and a multi vitamin. But most men in my life just take a multi and that seems to be all they need. ❤ put that make up on & now we use a product to take it off 😂 we carry more things so we have a purse & a wallet. They just have a wallet! Endless…
