I agree 100%. No one likes to be told how to raise their kids. I stay away from that, BUT I do give two "tips." One being this, talking to them as a person like this mom is doing. And the other is NOT tiptoeing around when they are sleeping. If you have housework to do, do it! If you have guests, conduct yourselves naturally. It's been my experience they can be conditioned to be good sleepers or not.

The dilema is, for non-black people or any person who doesn’t have that much melanin in their complexion, it sucks to feel rejected or reprimanded for sticking up for something we believe in such as saying “Beautiful Black Girl”. If it were a light-skinned person saying what you said, some would take offense and state “why mention that she’s Black? Why can’t you just say she’s beautiful?” It really feels like a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” type of situation. My mom used to tell me I could hold a conversation with her when I was one! But I never believed it til I seen how baby Jade can talk up a storm and make sense! I first saw them when Jade was combing her mom's hair and talking away! Cutest thing ever! Kayla Waters That’s great! I always believed a child could learn to read as a toddler. My granddaughter was fluent in both English and Spanish by 3. Kids brains are the most fertile before age 8. They can learn a lot more than they’re given credit for. You have to start early.
