1:54 I took this as just a typical overreacting for a kid. Children have very little comprehension on how big or how little of a deal certain actions are. When I was their age, the slightest misbehavior like that seemed like an actual crime. I remember getting caught with my friends by a cop climbing on the roof of a church one day and I legitimately thought we were going to jail. Only for the officer to just give us a warning and make sure we were ok. 😅 Plus, if you canon Hilda's world being set in Scandinavia, they are notorious for being very leniant on crime. I think the maximum sentence anyone has ever even received in Norway was only 21 years, currently being served by neo-nazi terrorist, Anders Breivik, for bombing and gunning down 77 people, most of whom were children and teenagers, so yeeeeaaaahhh.
