A little bit over a week ago a friend of mine sent me a vocal demo of a Swedish singer songwriter named "Hilda". She'd written a song the day after the passing of Avicii. When I listened to the demo the first time it touched me deeply in so many ways. As artists the best way to express our emotions is through music so I immediately asked if I could make music to accompany the vocal and turn the idea into an actual song. I locked myself up in the studio the next day and was determined to walk out with something magical that would do justice to the sincere message of the vocal and the incredible talent of HILDA. I truly felt this song needed to get heard. So many people are struggling with mental health problems and we have to make sure to never turn a blind eye to this...
All the royalties of this song will be donated to the Swedish charity, Tilia ( www.foreningent... ) and other charities devoted to mental health issues. Always remember: we are in this TOGETHER. Love you guys,

My grandpa passed away few months, just after my birthday, and him being the most important and precious person to me, it was like a hard jab in my heart, it hurt. It hurt so much, the man who you trust with all of your heart, that one man who never failed to make his grandchildren laugh, he was such a simple man yet with a very complicated life, a life filled with hardships, how much ever he was suffering inside he made sure people around him weren't facing any difficulties, the only person I actually look up to with all me. The lyrics describe Avicii's struggles with the fame, his social anxiety and depression and how it was hard to say no, even though he mentally and physically couldn't handle doing shows anymore, while his manager wanted to keep him doing shows (because of course Avicii was his income, so no shows - no money, for him too and the pressure of that was hard to Avicii, because he just couldn't do it anymore). And the title of course is a little reference to ''Wake me up when it's all over'', but then in a different sentence.

So this song has been out for a while but I really want to say this. I'm genderneutral, and I've been in a state of dysphoria for a good two weeks now. Constant self-loathing and worry about what my family will think about me. I'm out to my mom, dad, and little sister, but I have both sides of my extended family to come out to now. The first time I heard this song, my dysphoria eased almost immediately. Listening to the lyrics and the rhythm just felt so amazing. I realized from listening to these lyrics that even though there may be some people who won't support me, I've got family and friends who will never let me go. Now, whenever my dysphoria gets bad, I listen to this song and sing the lyrics and I end up feeling so much better. I wanted to thank you, Don, and Hilda. For helping me realize that I'm not less valuable for being me. That maybe I'll have to let go of a few people I care about, but I'm still valid. Thank you so much
