Hill Cipher (Encryption)

Hill Cipher can be done in 2 different ways, 3*1 and 1*3. We will get different answers following the different ways. But adopting one method will surely satisfy encryption and Decryption. Few conventions use KP and a few uses PK.

Pls check the (13, 4, 24) its wrong .. The correct answer is (13, 4, 24) mod 26 is (353, 341, 605) mod 26 which is (15, 3, 7) =(P D H)

New peeps out there, different formula used here for encryption C=K*P. Both conventions are produce different answers due to inherent matrix multiplication properties, but adopt the one your professor's taught to score marks. Similar with decryption P=K^(-1)*C .

For the Hill cipher, you must perform matrix multiplication, treating the plaintext as a column vector. Row-wise alignment will not produce the intended results, and it deviates from the standard method of encryption in the Hill cipher.

What? K*P implies a multiplication of 3x3 and 1x3, that's not possible. You'd have to change your plaintext to be a column vector then.

This isnt the correct method of encryption. The plain text matrix was supposed to be 3x1 matrix and not 1x3. What Stalling's book says is: the plaintext should be converted to coloumn vector of length k, if the key matrix is a k×k matrix. This is why even the answer is not correct here.
