Fantastic kit! Only thing I would be cautious about is the tampon for plugging the penetrating wounds. There is not enough packing material in a tampon to gain source control of a bleed add some Compressed gauze instead. Keep up the good work!👍
@CascadeBackcountry3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The tampon is mainly there as fire starter, a filter, etc.. never intended for it to be used as bleeding control really. In a pinch it could be used over a wound with direct, mechanical pressure.
@samuelo68163 жыл бұрын
@@CascadeBackcountry They certainly make good fire starters! + some u dont even have to waterproof:)

A zip tie wrapped around the top of the light tight under the thumb depresser works great to keep the link lighter from leaking gas
@CascadeBackcountry3 жыл бұрын

I think these would make a fantastic option for a 10 C's kit for when your away from base camp fishing or exploring or whatever, I see a ton of stuff in there I probably wouldn't carry, but I still think that the chest kit itself is a great idea. How do the bits that go under your backpack hold up from being worn under your pack?
@CascadeBackcountry2 жыл бұрын
Ya know... this kit was mostly a concept. I did carry it for one summer backpacking tho and I can say I had no issues with the straps under my backpack shoulder straps. There is a lot of stuff in this kit and is probably unnecessary for the average outdoor adventure
@Joinordie7183 жыл бұрын
Who makes those inside pockets (black ones) inside your chest kit?
@CascadeBackcountry3 жыл бұрын
Oh no! It doesn't say the brand name on them and it's been so long since I bought em that I can't remember. Maybe some Google detective work will do the trick. Sorry and good luck!

Can you please tell me how you stuck those magazine pouches in your kit bag and got them to stay? Thank you.
@CascadeBackcountry3 жыл бұрын
It's a flat, stiffer piece of material. One side has two elastic loops, one for your side arm and one for an extra magazine. The other side is velcro. I think I found it on Amazon. A little searching online and you should be able to find one! Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😁

I have similar front pack. I put my 9mm pistol in the rear compartment. I don't know what to put in the front compartment. I think some emergency equipment is good. Such as a flashlight, pocket knife, ferro rod, compass...etc... In my backpack, large equipment will be in. Such as a emergency blanket, poncho, water bottle, some food...etc...

What’s your full tang knife there and your folder? Did i miss that? Thank you
@CascadeBackcountry3 жыл бұрын
The full tang knife is a Jeo Tec. I absolutely love the knife. Great look, feel and function! My one gripe is that the handle is slightly small for my hand but other than that, great knife. The folder was just a cheap Schrade knife. I have a bunch of pocket knifes in rotation. That was just the one in my pocket that day. Hope that helped! 😀
