Hill Tribes of Myanmar

Myanmar is not very well known or understood by most people in the west. We struggled with our decision to travel here but decided the experience would be worth it.
We visited a number of the country's hill tribes and found a group of people who are relatively unchanged from their cultural roots. We were welcomed into peoples homes for meals, tea, rice whiskey, or even to stay the night.
We found the people of the hill tribes to be amazingly open, welcoming, and kind.
We spent our time here with the Baser family. The kids love having friends to share their travel experiences with. The Basers are having some incredible adventures of their own. Check them out on instagram! @basers_abroad

As you know, Myanmar has over 100 ethnic groups and I am pleased to see that you got to interact with some of them. It took some courage to travel to rural areas of the country where time has stood still....for better or worse. This is Myanmar...my country, my people. By the way, you are absolutely right in saying that Myanmar is not well known in the west, or known for the wrong reasons due to the politically correct/pro-Muslim Western news media. I really don't want to elaborate on it as this is a travel vlog and I don't like to discuss political issues on here.

Cho Sett, thanks for watching and leaving informative comments. I also try to avoid the political debate on KZbin comments as well. We travel to many "political hot spots". People often use KZbin comments as a stage to bring up centuries-old quarrels. (Amritsar in India kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGq4ZWyuiaypa7s Kashgar in China kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWWkcoF8jKiBh5Y, and Myanmar are notable places where I've seen this show up on our videos...) Our month-long visit to Myanmar was amazing. We experienced so much and met many fabulous people. I agree that it's hard to know what is actually happening in any situation based solely on one-sided media coverage. The best way to know for sure is to check it out yourself.

My tribe too once before v make our teething black/dark as culture. Am from india and am belongs to maring tribe in Manipur state. Elders said,One tribe in mayamer 95% culture is similar to my tribe is found .yet they both had a meeting n talk so far no knowledge .since lack of no research or documentary for dat its in pending I hope. If so, my beloved tribe in mayamer v young generation of Maring tribe r cumng for great relationships n unity..
