Hillary sounds like Obama in her younger days. I wish someone would show her her own speech at Wellesley and say that this is the Hillary that the millennial generation can relate to and would want. She was a Republican who switched to Democrat because of the civil rights movement, women's right's movement and and opposition to the Vietnam war. I wish she would listen to her own speech and welcome being challenged by the progressive youth to push her to be better, especialy on issues of war.

I think it's very disheartening what the last 47 years of society have done to her. Everyone has been shaving her down for years. It started when she was forced to take the name Clinton because it was threatening to end Bill's career and it has never stopped. I'm always amazed she's still standing.

The most remarkable thing about this speech, beyond the pleasant speaking voice that had yet be adversely affected by local and now presidential politics, (Or is this pure Wellesley dialect?) is that HR was the first-ever student commencement speaker in 91 years of commencement exercises, and as the college president mentions, there was no doubt about who that student would be. Imagine how that came to pass. It no doubt required enormous political virtue, at the very least, in Machiavellian terms. It's remarkable to hear such pure, raw ambition and will to power captured on audio at such an early age. What is it they say about power again?

If you look back at Hillary Clinton's life, without media bias. Just look at what she stood and fought for since 1969. She has had the same message since way back then. She has stood and fought for human rights in every aspect over decades of her public life and career. From 1969 and on, that does not say to me this person is putting on a show for anyone who'll buy it. It defines who she is at her core. She does believe in equality for all at her very core. Thank you Madam Secretary for being such an inspiration to me.

Well you can see at the age of 22 she was a very passionate driven young woman, but thats what happens when you send someone through the political machine, they change into a power hungry manipulative cold person. At this point I doubt any of her intellectual pursuits as in youth still persist, although I have huge respect for what she has done despite adversity, I just question her basic integrity and motives at this point. Im not talking about her email scandal and covering it up, of the Clinton foundation. Im talking about her sitting down the families of those killed in the Libya embassy attacks, and lying to their faces and telling them, we are gonna get those people who made that video, it shows she is a cold person, and although we need cold calculated decisions, you have to posses a small amount of empathy to still remind yourself your human, Hillary has lost the passions she once held so dearly as a twenty something year old, and traded them for a place in power. Take the good things from Hillary, such as becoming one of the most successful women of her generation, and give her credit for it, but leave the bad, the oh so much bad

That University brainwashes their students into an agenda that promotes an "Ends Justifies the Means" philosophy. This is the mantra of her mentors who admired people who used manipulation and even lying to acquire power. Who put Lucifer in the forwards of their books as some one they admire. This is why she is so ruthless and very dangerous. Lying to her is just part of the process of gaining power. People like her begin to justify their actions by pretending it's a means to do good, but they do not recognize that soon your actions begin to define you. Power will corrupt if power is the original aim.

Coming from a radical Trump supporter and anti-Hillary enthusiast, I honestly feel sorry for her seeing something like this. She seems like an authentic good person here; someone I might have actually really admired as a role model. I feel like she really believed in what she was saying and probably had a vision to really make the world a better place at the time. If this is the Hillary people see when they look at her today then I can sympathize with them a bit more now. I may still hold a radically different opinion about what I think of her today than some people, but I can respect the idea that other people support her.

She is. She has grown. Yes, this includes being hurt, making compromises, and being an adult. Have you been hurt? Have you made compromises? Have you had to be an adult? It changes a person's outside mask. The inside is still the same. Hillary is a very strong woman. She has endured where most would fold - not because she is emotionally strong, but because she is intellectually strong. Specifically, she is able to apply current data to make accurate predictions; she picks the best of those predictions and makes it a reality. Yes, it is an inbreed style of thinking where small mistakes get amplified. Yes, she will make short-term moves that make no sense so she can win in the long-term. So will 1969 Hillary. So will most adults who suck it up at work. Hillary is a good candidate for president, so long as she is able to get a team around her that helps her recover from small mistakes. (You know, small mistakes before they spiral into another Benghazi.)

Half of you people don't even care what the young, smart, and cheerful Wellesley college graduate named Hillary Diane Rodham had to say, and how wonderful her speech is. Instead, you focus on the woman that succeeded her, the Secretary of State, the New York Senator, the First Lady of both Arkansas and the United States as a whole, and all the things you believe she did WRONG. That's not what this speech should be seen as. It should be seen for what it was.

If Hillary Clinton still has this fearless young woman at her core she will have earned the vote of every disappointed Bernie supporter. The caricature of Hillary Clinton represented in media and the bogyman created by Conservatives; is this who she really is or who they want to make her out to be? Ms Hillary Rodham Clinton, tempered by 47 years in the crucible of a life lived in public trying to accomplish the impossible. She literally didn't say anything. Other than, like, it's not good to be afraid, let's make a difference, and, like, idk, we must not be stagnant. I suppose it was a proper speech for commencement. But politicians make fancy sounding speeches to fool people. Hilary is very good at this. Don't be fooled by empty statements. Words are words. But the content and promises of our words lead to our actions and it's our actions that matter.

There is no doubt in my mind that a young Hillary Rodham was a true, sincere social revolutionist. The question that I always find myself asking about politicians: Did they maintain that sincerity in the face of power, wealth and political temptation? There have been many honest, ideological politicians in America's history...but how many were steadfast to the truth?

Not sure she said anything concrete outside of highlighting the student body's communal awareness of gender inequality issues. This is similar to her style now of rhetorical sympathy garnering, without describing her plans explicitly, merely saying she has plans and that they'll make such and such a difference. The specifics and plans are missing now as they were then, so how do we know what we're voting for?

Even though I am a Trump supporter, listening to this makes me very sad. Hillary Rodham was an amazing young intelligent talented person with the ability to help our country but gradually took the path of corruption as most Democrats and most Republicans take to one degree or another. It is all a matter of degree. My wish for the USA is that our Democrat and Republican leaders become increasingly free of the special interests, work together and make decisions based on science, reason, and philosophy while abiding and upholding the US Constitution and the laws of our land. Trump will need people from DC to help him navigate the system since he is relatively new to politics. No president can just do whatever they feel like. Thankfully, we have 3 Branches of government to implement checks and balances. Nothing we can do now. The election is over. Hopefully these individuals will do a good job and not use their office to engage in criminal activity for personal enrichment. If so, hope Trump fires them since he is to a much lesser degree is not obligated to others. (Relatively speaking) We'll see what happens !!

Hillary did something at 17 that she thought was right. Her family was Conservative & she became a Democrat. As someone from Tennessee I can tell you it is Hell on Earth being a Democrat. It was a hard choice when I was in my 20's. I was an outcast in my own family. As a 52 year old woman I now find it to be a slice of heaven being the political pariah. Not one member of my family wants to talk politics. But the truth is you do grow. Life experiences are constantly changing us. Hopefully for the better.

""***** "It was historically Republicans who had a more liberal point of view on civil rights than Democrats." You hit the nail on the head with that statement. In the past, Republicans were not afraid of progressive/liberal leaders like Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. Today, the GOP earns its keep at the expense of other groups. In the 60s-80s it was mostly blacks(and that's why they lost the support of that group), Through the 90s-2010s it was gays, and now transgender people are the group to piss on in order to rally the base. Also, Republicans hardly have a monopoly on family values. And not all of us are Christian.

D Hunter, Hillary Rodham Clinton has NEVER been "a fake." Young Hillary's own beloved Father was a fairly successful, hardworking small businessman who was able to move his wife and young children to an idyllic suburban Rockwell Painting existence in Park Ridge, Illinois where his wife, Hillary's mother, was the Sunday School Teacher.Hillary loved her father, and was only a Goldwater Girl because HE was a Goldwater man. Like so many other children were. What is even MORE remarkable about Hillary Clinton and what is admirable, too, is that she was able to take the lessons of her faith and intellectually and spiritually come to realize that it is the Liberal ideology that they best inform and best allow her to try to implement. Consider the many offspring who merely continue on in life, in lock-step with their parents and grandparents political ideology without ever questioning them or really understanding WHY it is that they support them.As for Civil Rights? Hillary R. Clinton was Obviously no "segregationist." Spiritually-devout Hillary Rodham (Clinton) actually LIVED with a young black lady at prestigious Wellesley College. Hillary described her way back then as "elegant." That elegant lady is Janet (McDonald) Hill, a successful businesswoman and educator who married Ivy-League graduate and Professional football legend, Calvin Hill. They are the parents of Professional basketball player, Grant Hill.

Wellesley College was founded in 1871 by Henry F. Durant, a Harvard-trained lawyer, who converted to Christ thanks to the preaching of D. L. Moody. Subsequently, Durant decided that a good women's college was needed. He laid the cornerstone for the college building in 1871, into which he placed a Bible (King James Version, of course). In this Bible was written the following words: "This building is dedicated to our Heavenly Father with the hope and prayer that He may always be first in everything in this institution; that His word may faithfully be taught here, and that He will use it as a means of leading precious souls to the Lord Jesus Christ. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build." Taken over by liberals, Wellesley College today bears no resemblance whatever to the sort of school that its founder intended. Rather than "our Heavenly Father being the first in everything in this institution", it would be much more accurate to say that our Heavenly Father is always last in everything in this institution. Wellesley College is today practically the exact opposite of the sort of women's school that Durant had intended, and just another example of what happens when liberals and Leftists take over anything.

Not sure if you actually did the research, but Wellesley became very secular starting the 1880s when Henry Fowle Durant died. So technically the 'leftists' of 1882 are responsible for reforming and improving the college.

Also, things change, evolve, and improve. That's the way of life and history. Not everything back then is to be accepted now. For example, your saviour Henry Fowle Durant married his own cousin Pauline Fowle Durant. That might've been uncontroversial back then but I guarantee times have changed.

@@hippoge7987 Well said. Thank you. The current threat is from those that believe in imposing religious (mostly Christian) dogma on what should always be a place where students are free to study. Religion should be a private matter not a policy-making philosophy.

What a difference 47 years makes. Hillary was 21 when this recording was made. Back then, Hillary sounded like what most other college students sounded like: Idealistic, optimistic, altruistic, and hopeful. But, life had different plays for her. Life has made her what she is today. I don't want to go into all that she is today. That would take a while and would depress me...and you. But, life, as it is today and as it was yesterday, has a way of making one bitter, cynical, and hard. Or, it can make you feel fatalistic and cause you to think that life is just a cruel joke played on us by a sadistic "god" who lost interest in his creation soon after he created it - that's if you are religious. If you are atheist and believe in evolution, then, you might try cursing the darkness. Whatever...

A 4-minute speech at the age of 21 is more eloquent and enriching than Trump's combined speeches at the age of 74 something
