Thank you so much for this. The lobby was so small, I'd forgotten. I was going to the Saturday morning shows from July 1982, when I arrived in SA (from UK) for the first time, aged 12. A few years later it became the Mini Cine Cult Cinema, and showed many classics, like Withnail and I, The Song Remains the Same, and Heavy Metal. From 1989 or so, they also did midnight triple-movie marathons that ended at about 7am, so we'd all be getting the first buses home. Great days.

@@maureenjackson2041 Dear Maureen, I am not a Young person, and I lived my tender Youth outside South Africa and Europe, that does not mean that I have no heart and no fellings of a past for me much better than the one we all live with today, from all over de wold today there is a lot of misery, violence and insecurity, so why we don't have to say that Sout Africa was heaven on hearth, here is ma question to you: would you send your children today " unnnaccompnied and Alone " to go enjoy an ice cream in HILLBROW or go to the Movie House in HILLBROW, I would be very curious to know your answer... those are my broken souvenirs.

And if africa belongs only to u? Why the oldest countrie and didnt come with nothing like china,europe,Egypt still lived in Bush and killing one and ech other. Were is your history before white came? Thank you, I'm not surprised to know that in those years you were at MINI CINE ONE, cause many hundred of family and children used to come to our Movie House, And I suppose you were one of our best and gentle Boy on that time, as the time passed I will never forget you, all the beautiful people of South Africa, that' s why I kept those Photos souvenirs. Wow! Thanks so much for this. I spent many many hours there in the 80s, in my teens. Watching this video brought back to me even the smell of the place! Legendary. I saw numerous grindhouse movies there, and many age restricted films. I especially remember seeing cat people there for the first time, must have been around 1983.
