@@m.b.82 It's due to rallycross classes, it's why there's so many 2.4 liter ones too, there's 4 classes for engine size, up to 1.6 liter, up to 2.0 liter, up to 2.4 liter, and over 2.4 liter. As for the engines, they're called Volvo EVO engines, you can find info on them if you google them.

The car was designed back in 1988 by a plane engineer wich went ala carte at Ford with the best parts money could get 😅 The car was designed with drag and airflow in mind when no other rallycross team did.

Jan Arthur Iversen went to Ford and just picked up the best of the best from them. The gearbox is Xtrac as all the top rallycross RS200s used that over the original.
