Great day out as it always is at Shelsley and good to see the only injury to Wallace Menzies was in the wallet area. Matt Ryder is such a star, surprised the commentators didn't mention him much when they were trying to predict a winner.

Back pack blowers do a great job of clean up and they are fast!

I think part of the issue at Shelsley is it is dirt banks, rather than gravel traps, so the soil tends to be wetter and stickier and will probably still need some brushing. Worth giving a go though. I have been at other events where someone has brushed up before someone else has managed to get the engine of a blower fired up - probably less of an issue now with battery tools.

Sad to say Jock died 3 years ago after suffering a massive stroke at Stoneleigh after doing a Kart demo.

I guess you had to be there. It was just below where I was sitting and his nsf wheel clipped the left hand tyre wall (the one with the grass growing on it). It spun round and stopped near the gap on the rhs of the ‘bottom s’ where the Marshalls stand.

It did dry up, and get a lot faster, later in the stream. Would love to see the McMurtry tackle a normal hillclimb, though I think it would be more impressive on some other hills than Shelsley Walsh. Prescott would be my choice.

get a used flat bed and a petty generator and 20x cheapo hair dryers + make a road drying set up . If its crawling up at 2mph -3mph it would dry a car foot print rapidly

I was there today the delay on the livestream was less then a second, they have to protect what's streamed online in a red flag situation. in the future I can look into filming the crashes and uploading them if no one is hurt etc
