Because the People are sovereign, they are the most powerful element in our country, and therefore, the most dangerous. The Founders had the unique idea of wholly excluding the People from the administration of government while maintaining consent through periodic elections. To prevent the government from becoming tyrannical, the people gave the different powers of government to three separate institutions.
Discover the profound truths of the Constitution in an entirely new way through Hillsdale College’s “Introduction to the Constitution.” Find yourself at the table with Dr. Larry Arnn, as he teaches his students the principles of liberty. Experience the lively discussions that take place as students explore the implications and beauty of our Constitution. You guys are so awesome. Please flood Congress and the Senate with Hillsdale students. Let's get things done the right way and accomplish good things for the American people and help other countries follow our great influence from their own country so they can be great as well.

That will not happen unless those students go along with the corruption that has been going on for decades. So first we have to remove corrupt government that does not represent us.

Excellent lesson. We need more high schools and colleges teaching the fundamental principles of our founding documents in the same way that your campus does. Then, maybe, the liberties and freedoms that have been eroding away in the name of socialism would be fought for in the war of truth and ideas. Thank you.

This erosion was not done due to "socialism", although the corrupt oligarchy lies and says such things in order to divide us. The erosion benefits our corrupt oppressors, always. And that is both criminal gangs in power and the greedy rich they cater to.

Somebody tell me why The Declaration of the United States and the Constitution wasn't taught in Junior High and High school? This seems much more important to being a responsible citizen than art or music class.

I was taught this when in school. We had to pass Constitution test 100% to pass 8th grade. Was multiple choice and could be repeated. We all passed! Also senior year economic/government. We were taught this and to be patriotic. I’m old

They recognized that all the power a government can hold cannot be given to one man because they knew the hearts of men was corrupt and flawed. So the powers had to be separated from them.

This goes along with the idea that if the people are sovereign, then they must also be gorgeous. How do people become virtuous? Through INFORMED consent. How do the people become informed? Through education and a free and impartial press.

Now, how do American citizens guarantee that elections are honest and legitimate? What is the appropriate response if the are not?

End the use of the fraudulent voting machines and any electronic ballot scanning, for sure. And redo our election process completely, since my research shows thst we have had rigged elections for about 50 years! But in order to do this we need to take control of our corrupt government first. Time for us to do different actions and strategies against the corrupt liarss in power for decades: 1) At every chance we tell the lying sociopaths in power that WE DO NOT CONSENT to what they are doing!! Look up "consent of the governed" and think of us UNITING with this message to remove the corrupt, unethical charlatans. 2) The Declaration of Independence says it is our DUTY to remove government that is abusive and despotic - we definitely have a very long list of their abuses to justify such removal! 3) The Constitution directs that federal money be spent to provide for the good of all, but for decades corrupt Congress has issued federal money to enrich themselves and their criminal buddies. ROUND UP CONGRESS to face charges - dereliction of duty, violating the Constitution, embezzling federal money, crimes against humanity, war crimes and more. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We need to stop feeling stymied and helpless and start pushing harder so we take back our oower and create the humane system we should have had decades ago.

@@debbiedogs1 Agreed. Yet concerning points 2 & 3, when and how? I believe that the Divine hand gave opportunity and providence during the American Revolution of 1776. No so much during the 1789 French Revolution, the October Revolution in 1917 Russia, or the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949. I do not think the people of these nations got back what they expected. One must be certain that it actually the will of God and not the will of a corrupt group of individuals or the country will move out of the frying pan and into the fire. I agree with your first paragraph. We must insure honest elections. Again circular logic asks, how. I for one will volunteer as a poll watcher. This is a minor step if the voting contraptions themselves cannot be trusted. God bless.

Florida has a good system in that voter shows ID before voting on a paper ballot at the monitored polling location. Other states may have even better ideas--we need to get this right!

So the right to consent could be withheld by the people if the people acknowledge that the current government is unconstitutional??

I have been reading up, and the answer is YES. Time for us to do different actions and strategies against government that is not doing what we want: 1) At every chance we tell the lying sociopaths in power that WE DO NOT CONSENT to what they are doing!! Look up "consent of the governed" and think of us UNITING with this message to remove the corrupt government. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We need to stop feeling stymied and helpless, and do actions to take over so "we the people" take power and create the humane system we should have had decades ago.

That's what I get out of it--founding fathers withdrew consent from England when England's King George refused to address their grievances.

Since only 2 states require true majorities for state and local officials (and even they only require pluralities for winner- take- all electors), are you using "majority" in the sense Congressional procedure or for the sovereign citizens? Most voting ends up being actual majorities, but First- Past- the-Post voting is nearly the universal rule for the sovereign population.
