I was an atheist for years and hated god. My life was spiraling out of control with drug addiction and i only relied on my will. Once i surrendered and got sober i needed someone or something to take over. That someone was jesus. I accepted him into my life and i can tell you for a fact that i have felt jesus working in my life. I can feel his love and grace and mercy whenever i worship. When im struggling i rely on him to take my hand and lead me out of the darkness. Hes proved his existence to me more than once. Ive never seen jesus or heard him but i can feel him everyday. Its a special feeling thats so much more than just happiness. For me its as if the strongest feeling of love and contentment washes over me! An unworldly feeling. Hes the truth and the way and hes my protector and advocate. Jesus is king!!! My lord and I have learned to trust him! I still struggle but god gives me the strength to keep going. To the one who is not feeling anything right now...like you don't love God -- not feeling anything. God is still there...you might feel like you are disconnected, but it could be just a growing phase. Keep believing HE IS, just as you did when you first met Christ even if you don't feel anything in this moment. Keep praising Him and reading His Word and Our Faithful God will reveal Himself to you in a greater way. We go from glory to glory as we continue trusting and seeking Him. Just because you don't 'feel' anything from time to time doesn't mean God doesn't exist or you have lost your love for Him. Keep acknowledging WHO HE IS ALWAYS.
