HILLTOP WILD CAMP ON FIREWORKS NIGHT 2023 | NORWEGIAN ARCTIC FIELD RATION REVIEWS

Welcome to Luton in Bedfordshire for the Tom Outdoors Fireworks Night special 2023! I was joined by Dawn for this wild camp on top of Wardens and Galley hill overlooking the town of Luton to watch their fireworks displays for the night. We used our OEX Rakoon 2 person tent along with all our winter equipment for the first time since the start of the year. More importantly, it was Dawn's first time trying army ration packs. I had purchased 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts from the Norwegian Army Arctic Field Ration variety. We sat in our cosy tent out of the wind in between fireworks displays and taste tested each component.

Hello mate! Nice one. You had a great vantage point there to see all the fireworks. Haven't been to Luton for years, other than to the airport and that was about 10 years ago now! Luton eh, I thought that was an unusual choice till I saw the view from the hill! Looks decent! And you had much better weather up there than we did here in Sussex, it was an absolute washout down here! You'll be at 10k before you know it mate!

Great video Tom and Dawn, Interestingly I too was on Warden Hill to see the fireworks at popes meadow. I didn't see much though. I saw a tripod whilst on the Hill at the front which I assume would have been where you were filming. I have done a wild camp on warden hill before. There are some good spots, but it does get busy with dog walkers etc. as it is close to the road. The rashon pack looked good. I will have to try one now. Thanks Keith

you said about your softy trousers what are they and how much ,nice one yet again Tom

They are ex army insulated over trousers and I get them from ebay. You can also buy army softie jackets. Both items are reversible, olive/khaki and sand colour on the other side. Trousers range from £12 to £30 and the jackets are usually a bit more. I'd advise buying a size or two down for the trousers as they are oversized in order to fit over combat gear normally. For example I'm a medium and Dawn is a small in them. I'd usually need at least an XL or more in usual clothes! Hope this helps.👍
