Cant be feeding those plants can we, apparently heat reflects off of thin air (homogeneous CO2 molecules) back down to earth, contrary to the Laws of physics, and Every thermal imaging camera on the planet, when you point one at clear blue sky, its Black, denoting ZERO back radiation off of thin air, contrary tor the fraudsters claims. in contrast Clouds are lit up like Christmas trees, because water vapour is separate from the air and so do have surfaces and so can reflect refract or transmit infrared radiation.

I like how Scott Brown Carpentry does it well, I think because its a law in NZ as well. Scott always puts the text in the video and tells us that X product was gifted, sponsored/ad etc. He also says both negative and positive stuff and obviously working in real world scenarios rather then on a test benches at trade shows/promotional events. That being said I feel like Skill Builder channel is reputable and if they see something that doesn't sit right they won't promote it.

😂 I have a few parkside tools and they aren't bad for the money, they don't really compare with the proper branded tools but still good for DIY. Parkside Drill, circular saw, driver, impact wrench, angle grinder and a multi tool all 18v I have. Things I've had break on me, angle grinder, drill, 1 battery and a circular saw (tool them 3 months to send me a new one). My brother has Makita tools and they are lovely to use when I get a chance, they just feel so balanced, powerful and well made.

I was given brabd new 110v TE2 when I worked for a big contractiing company, never used an SDS type drill of any sort before, that was in the early 80's, I treasured that drill, cared for it like a baby, it stayed looking like new for the 8 months I possessed it then some prat of a contracts manager decreed that I should leave it on the site I'm working on rather than keep it in my car boot with my personal tools. Lo and behold, the site box got broken into over that weekend in Romford and that was that. They never bought me a new one, I was given some knackered old TE22 which was much heavier, hated it. TE2 was a dream.

Problem is, me personally, I am already fully kitted out with Dewalt because I lime the quality although a bit pricey, Hilty have always been out of my price range, usually associated with the bigger contractors who make enough spare cash to afford this luxurious range, that said I cant see some tradesman dumping all his stuff and suddenly buying the entire 22V Hilti range. Maybe in my dreams.

Good point, alot of the time with Hilti your buying the warranty. If your tool goes down on site their rep is out with a replacement tool and takes yours away to be repaired depending on your level of cover, that's why they're so popular with big contractors.

Battery with a SIM card in it. A bit suspicious to me. These devices like any gadget with word smart in it is usually for their benefit not ours. Typically gaining free marketing information on us and us not gaining any benefit. Company’s pay a lot of money for info like this. I think they have all worked out a way of getting it for free.

Totally agree. I recently worked for a guy who had a smart home. Cameras everywhere, robot hoovers, automatic lights, etc, all requiring subscriptions to various online/cloud services. I don't see enough benefits in Hilti stuff to warrant the huge cost. Like you say, you can buy Makita and other respected brands at a fraction of the cost. I am a Milwaukee fan - used to buy DeWalt and Makita years ago, but when Milwaukee hit the UK I tried a couple of their drills and was hooked. Festool is another good quality range (mainly woodwork) but overpriced and over engineered. Spending on Hilti probably give you kudos from tradesmen but in the back of my mind is what happens when you get your van or workshop raided ?

There's 3 major problems with battery tools, the first being the initial price, the cheapest dewalt corded circular saw is around £110, whereas an entry level dewalt cordless circular saw with 2, 4Ah batteries start at around £300. The second is the overall battery life, my 20 year old corded saw still works the same as it ever did, who has a battery that's 20 years old and still works like new? Thirdly, the exact benefits your promoting in this video (an entirely new system to replace the previous system). Manufacturers are constantly updating their products, I have a full set of dewalt tools that take the old nicad batteries, the tools are still great, 4 sets of batteries over the years, all busted, dewalt don't sell compatible batteries any more, while my corded saw plug still fits in the outlet, no problem. Love the videos, and thanks for the chance to voice my opinion 👍

They’re ridiculously priced now. I’ve got a full set of the old 22 version and they’ve screwed me over changing the entire platform yet come out with this little adaptor that’ll work. They don’t have a chopsaw, multi tool, w&d vac etc and want £1k for a circular saw. They’re pricing themselves out of the market. There is no way they are 2x as good as a dewalt/makita/milwaukee

I'm very curious as to why information about batteries have to be accessed via a sim/cloud. Just how much information does one neec that cannot be communicated via led lights? I'll certainly be interested in what range of tools are available though, I love my Makitas but I'm starting to look for durability now.
@ricos1497
@ricos1497 Жыл бұрын
All information, like when it was charged, and where it was charged will likely go to the cloud. There is only one reason you would ever have this information in the cloud and that's to build a sellable data profile of the user. Data is money. Initially, they might not use this data of course, but wait until the 8,653 page terms and conditions get updated on the next software update.
@suspicionofdeceit

@ricos1497
@ricos1497 Жыл бұрын
@@suspicionofdeceit rowing back on what I previously said a bit, I guess if you're in charge of a thousand contractors and they all use hilti cordless (I had a guy round from BT open reach who was using an older hilti, so it's very possible that they all use them for example), it might be useful If they all use this service for battery reorder. Also for overbearing micro management: "John, your battery appears to be wearing faster than your colleagues. Are you sinking your plasterboard screws in too far?", or: "John, you haven't used much battery, have you been working today?". I guess that there are two markets of people. One being us folks that just want a high quality power tool, and the manager who wants to feel part of things from his desk. It'd be great if the SIM came as an additional option that you weren't required to buy. The fact that it doesn't appear to be suggests data collection is the goal, but they'll sell it with the idea that large businesses can track their employee usage.

Hello Roger, I’m up early doors. I’ve only used a Hilti corded SDS, a couple of times borrowed from a good mate. It was like a bloody truck & they are expensive, in the real World they’ve a lot of very strong competition. I know loads of blokes will go with the one make but I have a mix, Milwaukee, Bosch, Makita, even AEG but no DeWalt cordless. In my experience the Milwaukee comes out on top, they are robust & the batteries have a healthy run time & seem to charge a little more quickly than others. But the idea that a battery powered tool will give you the same performance, that is, delivery of constant power is “cloud cuckoo Land” speak. You can’t change the “Law of Physics”. Also Roger apologies for not getting back to you, I’ve had issues with my mob fon but thanks for reaching out. Keep up the Good Work, you’re a trooper.

Same here, I used to be provided hilti corded sds, combi drill and impact wrenches. Ended up using my own Bosch 36v sds and Milwaukee for the other two. Much better performance and despite the price difference less fragile than the hilti’s. Maybe 10-15 years ago it was worth the extra cash but for ‘standard’ tools as above I can’t see it’s worth it….

I’m a joiner/dryliner with a 6 years of experience. I’ve used all range of tools ,Makita , Dewalt,Milwaukee, Festtool , Hilti . My all tools are hilti at the moment (except dewalt laser lever and paslode nail gun) All I can say Hilti is on top of that list, the most solid and reliable tools on the market. I still have batteries bought 6 years ago , they still work. Im planning to buy nuron but got too many tools and batteries for old hilti platform cpc at the moment. DeWalt feels like plastic toy sometimes , Milwaukee is my #2 , my mate uses it on site , it is really good for it price but does not last long. My advice , tools makes you money , if you know you going to make money , there is s lot of work for you , dont be afraid and invest money in hilti , never let you down and their service is great , my collated screw gun fixed milions of screws and my saw cut tousands of plywood and it s still going strong !!

More electronics = more to go wrong. But such is progress. I think we only need to see state of charge, and basic battery health ( eg number of cycles used & max power now vs when new ). I'm guessing Hilti want to harvest the data ( how long used; how long the trigger is pulled per go; max load vs battery drain etc. ) to get real world data so they can continue to tweak things. So new adopters are doing the field testing in a sense. They should get a gift card for their efforts 🙂

I find Hilti sometimes being cheaper than milwaukee. For example purchases the NPR32 press tool kit up to 2” jaws and was 500$ cheaper than milwaukee propress and they threw in 2 free batteries. Not all their tools are expensive. Most are in the same price range, they just don’t bundle them for kits and discounts. Once you have a few batteries, the bare tools are not that much more than milwaukee or dewalt and the quality is far better.
