We did not particularly enjoy the room, as the value for a 4-star hotel room did not seem to match the aesthetic. There were some updated rooms, but it seemed those were reserved for timeshare owners.
Overall, we recommend visiting this resort as a family, couples, or with friends. It would also be perfect for large, special events. I would certainly recommend asking for an updated room at the time of booking.

We'll also be there in March on a freebie trip since Diamond was purchased by Hilton. We use our timeshare the way it was intended now that we are retired. Have yet to have a bad experience in over 20 years of timeshare ownership. Yes, they seem expensive up front but if you manage the ownership properly it can be a bargain. Our credit card points pay for more than half of our maintenance costs.

Thanks for posting this video. It definitely would have been nice if Hilton allowed you to see one of the renovated rooms. I’ll be visiting the property in March for a timeshare promo (I have no interest in buying a timeshare). It’s too bad this building’s interior does not match the immaculate grounds.

Jamal, thank you so much for your comment! I would call to confirm you'll be in the updated part of the building. I believe they will put you in that area anyways since it's a timeshare promo. Just stayed here… Palace Tower. Booked one of the promotions through Hawaiian Airlines, so we had to attend the timeshare presentation. Interesting sales pitch, but not really our style of vacationing. Considering we were primarily visiting the Big Island to play golf, the size of the property was very inconvenient. Nice amenities, but probably won’t stay here again. We visit the Big Island about once per year.

Great question! This hotel complex is MASSIVE and certainly is waterfront. We have two other videos that show the ocean: 1. Were any of the pools lazy rivers?

Unfortunately, no. There were mostly water slides. They were completing construction on the main pool when we visited, so there may be a chance that they are going to try to add a lazy river in the future. Thanks for commenting! 🤙
