Excellent Video . Please do a video on how to change the oil in the front dif for the 4x4. I changed the oil in my rear dif , transfer case and manual gearbox , it was very easy . The access to the filler bolt on the front dif is impossible .I would really appreciate if you could show us how to loosen the filler bolt.

Another excellent video, the best I've seen on servicing. I've been told to also check the oil pickup filter through the sump drain hole after draining the oil; it's apparently an early indicator of injector seat failure. Also should check the fuel filter/drain water?

Great video man you explain it so well. If you do need to back the rear brakes off to get the drum off do you simply just flick the adjuster down instead of up?
@foordoffroad89153 жыл бұрын

.new subscriber- sick video mate supper helpful! My lux is on about 220kms I did an EGR clean maybe 5000 ago quick question.. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for in terms of my injectors potentially being on their way out... I can't really seem to hear miss firing but also its kind of hard maybe me ear isn't tuned in... any tips would be appreciated cheers ✌️
@foordoffroad89153 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, yeah with the injectors on a cold start up until the engine is at temp you’ll hear a knock or loud tick and it can be quite bad under acceleration and it will progressively get louder as they wear out As soon as you hear this replace the injectors and make sure to code them in otherwise they can burn a hole through the piston

Excellent video Foord. Do you ever check your oil pickup at all. Usually can be done by shining a torch through the sump drain hole on the 1kd. The pickup can often get guncked up.

@foordoffroad8915 Жыл бұрын
On this model Hilux there is only grease points in the drive line and if you have a suspension lift there will most likely be grease points in the shackle pins and spring eye pin Probably won’t be any more Hilux videos, at least not on this Ute because I sold it a few months back

Hey mate quick question... have 206,000km on 14' SR5 and I get a decent amount of steering wheel chatter when sitting at around 100km/h. Got any idea what it could be? It doesn't appear to be engine as happens when on and off throttle. Cheers
@foordoffroad89153 жыл бұрын
Could be a number of things, rack end or tie rod ends, worn out ball joints, too much neg castor, out of balance wheels, worn out shocks, the list goes on Best to take it to a mechanic and get them to check the front end and balance the front wheels

Woa woah woah, don't spray contact cleaner on the MAF, only MAF cleaner or you'll f it. MAF sensors sit behind the air filter so shouldn't need cleaning ever anyway, unless you run a K&N or other crap filter
@foordoffroad89153 жыл бұрын
Contact cleaner is the same as maf cleaner, it’s perfectly safe I agree that no you shouldn’t have to clean it but you’d be surprised how dirty they get on some cars and it takes 2 seconds to do so might as well
