Regarding the "what does homosexuality have to do with my drawing" story: When I was in high school (early 2000's), two girls were caught making out in a closet (no pun intended) during a school dance, outing them and causing A Scandal. Having been raised by a family that told me that my aunt was gay in the same tone that they told me that she's not the youngest of my father's sisters (ie it wasn't a huge deal), it took me quite a while to realize that The Scandal was that they were gay, not they were publicly making out in a school closet.

Okay but why would that probably actually happen to me? Like, not necessarily with real people (because I haven't been attracted to real people (enough to actually date them) since I was like 6-8 years old but I'm that one person who will be watching an anime or playing a video game and one of the characters has their sad/tragic past revealed and (just so long as they don't trigger what little PTSD I have) I, without fail, always either end up latching onto them like they are my younger sibling (regardless of whether or not they're older than me) or child or I will end up falling head over heels for this character purely because I empathized with them so strongly that it turned into legitimate attraction. So yeah, I probably would be attracted to someone just because their parents didn't accept them (granted it would probably take a few more things to get to that point but I could still probably get there)... TLDR: Apparently I'm romantically attracted to people I empathize with so this could probably actually happen to me.

The attraction to men and women feeling different thing is why it took so many years for me to realize I was bi. I thought I couldn't be because this weird feeling I occasionally had toward some women was different than what I felt toward men. Then it took a while to accept it because of anti-lgbtq+ family members causing a lot of denial.

I was 25 when I finally started figuring that stuff out 😅 when it first happened as a teen peers told me that bi means 50% attraction to women and 50% to men. I was mostly attracted to men though but sometimes I crushed on girls too, just not as frequently and it felt different. I‘m glad for everyone who is able to understand themselves over time ❤️✨ Edit: of course denial also played a big role in this.
