Good video. The Himalayans coming to the US are set very lean from the factory and I almost cringe when I see guys install and exhaust and DNA aftermarket filter. They are making the problem much worse if they don’t change fueling. It was the reason I switched to Hitchcocks carb kit. My bike was so lean with cylinder head temps upwards of 400f. Since installing the carb and getting the jetting correct with the K&N filter (stock airbox) and Delkevic full exhaust it runs much cooler, smoother and with more torque. My spark plugs are a nice chocolate brown with a dark tan tip.

I have been tweaking the maps on my piggyback Ecu for about 3 years now and still haven’t been able to settle down with a COMPLETE map . I will consider a carb job soon . I used to tune carbs for almost 10 years as a side job . It was a lot more easier than this .

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Agree, I worked for Kawasaki and Yamaha in the 80s as a mechanic (we were mechanics then not techs LOL) and I am super familiar with carbs and tuning them.

I own a Mahindra Mojo detonation knocking is increasing frequency, so i will surely work the same cleaning fix.

Hi Ben I really appreciate your vids they are very inspiring and it is nice to see your passion for this wonderful machine. I myself own RE Himalayan and I love it. regarding the detonation issue allow me to suggest checking the Air/fuel mixture as you might use lean mixture with a Hight power settings which as far as I understand can cause detonation.

Hi Ben, I own a himalayan and the engine is producing a knocking sound. Got it checked up couple of times and the guys told they have adjusted the timing chain. Still it produce that same sound after Running the bike for few kms. And now the service center team is telling that the engine head needs to be replaced. It would be helpful if you can give your input on that. Is this damage caused due to the air fuel mixture as well?

My hunter 350 has ping when jot and accelerating. Worse up hill.and mostly at about half throttle. I use premium gas and it helps. Only remedy has been fuel x pro+.wich helped a little and lucas oct booster at 2oz at fill up wich stops ping dead in its tracks. Id like to know if u have solved your ping.

He Ben when I used 7100 10w50 . I got gear change and slip issues. Did you feel something like that? From Last 1nd half year I am using 300v 15w50 and it’s doing good.

Why we should do this kind of maintenance ..do you think people are buying Himalayan will have time and also will have the knowledge to do this 😂 maintenance..😮 .. Most of the Himalayan engines are seized due to failure engine and R&D by company ... I suggest buyers to don't buy Himalayan..please check royal Enfield service centre and you can see most of the vehicle are standing for service is Himalayan due to lack of parts availability and problem.more than 6 month's😂😅 I am telling as a EX Himalayan owner and sold my brand new vehicle... To relieve from tension😂
