Another method on how to quickly delete the EVAP system form your royal enfield HIMALAYAN. Fixes, rough idle, stalling, erratic performance, fuel vapour escaping tank lid, fuel smell .

I have to thank you Ben, because I did this and the SAI delete from Hitchcock and it has made the Himalayan build I’m doing 100% better. Yes, you lose a very marginal amount of evaporation like you’ve explained before, but I’ll take that change over the lag and choppy idle. I do have to adjust my throttle though now because it’s over 1,600 rpm at idle and I know it’s a little high. Honestly, can’t thank you again, because this helps the Himalayan exponentially

Thanks Ben, I did the oil change last week following the advice on your video. This week, I'll do the evap delete and then air filter change. While the tank is off, I'm also going to re-position the air temperature sensor (and the one on my booster plug) towards the front of the bike just below the clocks. Very helpful videos - thanks a lot.

Just a note to get rid of excess hose I used the throttle body hose to connect to the petrol tank as you said to exit behind the engine and completely removed the other hose originally from the tank to the front and then fitted a rubber blanking plug over the throttle body connector. Much neater than plugging the hanging hose but I guess you have to have the blanking plug.

Try adjusting the throttle body sensor (TPS) to around 6.8v - 7.0v . Importantly the fuel pump filter may need cleaning or replacing. Wouldn't hurt to check the valve clearance and that the correct spark plug is fitted, set to the correct gap and that the air filter is clean

Is there any reason why you re-route the two hoses. I plan to do the delete, as I have stalling issues, but I was going to drop the bash plate and evap system down, disconnect the one from the tank, plug the one from the throttle body, then just cable tie them to secure and leave them inside the bash plate and refit. Will this be ok.

Hi this is an excellent video my Himi is 2022, and the EVAP is hidden behind a wing of a rear wheel. it's a little different.. There is a connection of one tube directly to EVAP and another goes to a connector that looks like an electrical connector and from there (from the same connector) it connects back to EVAP. My question is, if I eliminate the electrical connector (it has 2 inputs, one from the injection system and the other that exits from it and goes back to EVAP), how do I refer to this connection? Thanks in advance!

Hi Ben, it would be helpful if you could add a warranty void disclaimer on mods and stuff that void warranty. Many people don't know the difference between maintenance/repair and modification. Some people don't really think about the warranty till the moment they need it. It is recommendable to retain the warranty if possible as historically, RE had poor quality control for the parts and you can't be sure when your fuel pump or starting motor or alternator coil would fail.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I totally get the disclaimer part . but warranty is a subjective matter from the beginning of times. There are fools for service HEADS / MANAGERS who will link everything to warranty. WARRANTY cannot be void if the service centre cannot prove to you that your MOD caused the failure of a component. Period.But then you need to be educated and sensible enough to know what your dealing with in the first place.

@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question friend. I honestly don’t know how much of a difference does removing EVAP make on fueling , because it is a mechanical unit on our bikes and works intermittently ( pressure build up - purge valve ) . So don’t know if the difference will be large enough for the O2 sensor to act in . One thing I know is that the fueling will be consistent post this mod . So leave the O2 there . It makes for a closed loop circuit and without it a lot can go wrong . Otherwise get yourself a piggyback ecu and bypass the O2 sensor and make the whole system Open loop.

Just the same . Plug the hose coming from Throttle body and leave the hose from the tank to the ground .

You need to clean the Throttle Body and set the idle again .

As for stalling , you can start by removing the EVAP system .

Been facing problems ever since I deleted the EVAP 👎 Wouldn't suggest this to anybody. Just check your hoses, and make sure they're not pinched, you'll be good to go.

Make sure that the port on the throttle body where the evap hose connects is capped off or plugged. If not, it can cause the problems you mention. I did the delete on my himi and it fixed all the starting and idling problems. It starts now without needing the "choke".

Hey, I really wanted your opinion on something. I purchased a Himalayan BS6 2021 two days back, And from the first day itself it has stalling issues be it when I pull in the clutch for stopping or while making a U-turn where the bike gets a bit slow it stalls. This happens every 2 out of 5 times to take an example. Another problem is that the bike's pickup is very poor, I mean I've ridden a Himalayan before and it had good low end torque but talking about mine it just doesn't pull. Really frustrated since the service center mechanics are no good at understanding the problem leave alone fixing it. Really looking forward for some help.

there are too many reasons for stalling. it will take me forever to type here. kindly take it to the service center and ask them to diagnose and find a solution for the same.

What will be the problem if we leave the throttle body pipe to the canister?

Dear Ben. I have been reading post wherein it has been mentioned that the ECU is pulling the vapour fuel once we are on constant speed. If we remove the evap can then ECU might get some errors. How do you recommend that.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
That is for electronically controlled EVAP systems . The Himalayan's system works on vaccum generated by the TB . there is no sensor in the EVAP cannister like the ones in cars .
