One could argue that the fact that is HASN'T been attacked is proof of it's efficacy. I mean, if the attitude is "Don't bother", I'd say that's better than "We might have a shot, let's go for it!"

Is the stonework cemented together? I heard from somewhere that it is not, so that earthquakes won't mess it up.

How many years to build this massive fortress ? I'm always surprise (in a good way xD) how strong the structure are and i'm always thinking about when our society (West country) builded in the wrong way ... Thanks again for the tour and explaination :)
